The only information in the cookie is your ignore list. This info is stored on your computer and isn't correlated with anything by the site itself.

Also, you don't need to accept cookies to read or post on LA IMC. If you're afraid of them, just turn them off in your browser. In Opera, this option is found in the File menu under "preferences"; select the "privacy" item to change your cookie settings. If you're using Internet Explorer, pull down the "tools" menu, select "internet options" and then "security".

It's also easy to delete cookies. Opera can be set to delete cookies automatically when you close the program, or you can wipe the contents of any "cookies4" folders in the Program Files\Opera folder. If you use IE, search for any "cookies" folders and wipe the contents. Note that the "index.dat" file can't be deleted from within Windows, but can be if you boot into DOS mode.

My question for the original poster: are you just ignorant and fearful or are you one of the LA IMC troll brigade trying to spread FUD?
