Grupo Pulsar is Mexico's Monsanto

by stop Plan Puebla Panama
Grupo Pulsar is Mexico's biotech corporation that intends to invade the Lacondon rainforest, replacing rainforest diversity with genetic engineered trees under free trade agreement Plan Puebla Panama (similar to NAFTA, CAFTA, FTAA)
The recent developments of new corporations like Grupo Pulsar are centered on resource extraction/exploitation of the region south of Puebla MX to Panama, PPP intends to pave a freeway through the rainforest to transport mined minerals and genetic engineered tree/food crops. This attack on biodiversity of the Lacondon and Central American rainforest is accompanied by exploitation of indigenous communities who have resided in the rainforest for thousands of years. They are being forced off their land by the Mexican government so that biotech corporations like Grupo Pulsar can replace rainforest diversity with GE tree monoculture..

Biodiversity of the Lacondon rainforest cannot be replaced once lost, extinction is permanent. Indigenous people of Chiapas and Oaxaca are dependent on rainforest plants for medicinal value. The attacks on their sustainable lifestyle from biotech giant Grupo Pulsar directly threatens their survival. The people of Chiapas/Oaxaca would always prefer living in peace. As a result of the attacks on their livlihood from Grupo Pulsar and PPP, the people of Chiapas/Oaxaca are forced into fighting for their survival..

"What will happen to the land when the people are removed?
Alfonso Romo serves as a PPP advisor and directs Grupo Pulsar, one of Mexico's most important transnational corporations. Romo is a biotech seed giant and Grupo Pulsar currently has tree plantations in Chiapas (nearly 50,000 acres). More plantations are planned. These chemical-intensive, non-labor-intensive operations will irreparably damage the land without even offering significant local employment. With Romo's ties to biotechnology there is certainly a future possibility of genetically engineered tree
plantations being developed throughout the Central American Isthmus. The World Rainforest Movement has reported that the development of primarily
non-native tree plantations in the region is directly due to the demand for raw materials for packaging for sweatshops."

Ya basta, Ya basta Ya basta, we need to stop Plan Puebla Panama..
