Greensboro Police excessive force
Mentally ill are now at risk of Police Abuse.
We live in Greensboro, NC.
I am a parent of a Mentally ill adult child. The Mental Health failed my child a few years ago when the budget disappeared.
6 Months ago i arrived home and had to call 911 to remove an adult male who refused to leave my home and was contributing to 2 underage girls.
The police arrived and before it was all over the 2 girls were arrested. My child was beat while cuffed in the head with a flashlight causing injury. The man was never charged and left standing in my driveway.
The police Dept has assured me they have been trained to deal with mental health patients (I quess they have if you call beating them justice).
I filed with internal affairs, SBI, FBI, ACLU, NAMI and everyone else i could think of. The officer was found innocent of any wrong doing.
I am no longer proud to say i live in North Carolina and will be at the voter booths next time with lots of friends and family.
I wonder how many other cases are out there we don't know about in Guilford County.
