Piedmont High School was host to the first of a three game tournament between anarchist soccer team Kronstadt FC and comunist team Left Wing. Midway through the second half, organizers were faced with an angry Piedmont Board of Education member who, when not shown a permit, requested police involvment. The crowd and players remained civil throughout and organizers were able to stall the police long enough to finish the second half; ending the game with a tieing score of 2-2.

Only one officer arrived to the High School Soccer field. He didnt want to get too close but apparently organizers were told if the game didnt end soon, they'd be reliving the Chicago Seven trials.

That photo of the Kronstadt players cheering from the sidelines must have been after their first goal because the person in the front of the picture scored their second goal.

Uh, this is the dumbest thing I've seen in quite a while, but it does sum about anarchist politics in the Bay Area: its all a fucking game, with some social scene subculture crap thrown in.

It is so sad that these communists have lowered themselves to fuck off like this. Wasn't there anything worthwhile happening on Sunday afternoon?

I was at the game, as a spectator/fan of the krondstat team.

it was sooo fun! Great playing by both teams, good (sometimes nasty) chants and cheers, and of course, lots of hotties.

You betch your cranky ass I'm ging to the next game and bringing 32 of my friends!

yeah!

Isn't it dumb that 50+ people went outside on a sunday afternoon, having fun, getting exercise and building comradery?

Just think how much more revolutionary it would have been if they'd stayed at home, sat alone in front of their computer screens, and complained about how dumb it was for a bunch of people to go outside and...

Can't you bait us a little better than that?

This is getting people excited, it's an excuse for people with similar political thoughts that don't necessarily know each other to get together, and yes, people were talking. Plus, what better Revolutionary bloc training can you get than Soccer! Especially when you play for over 2 hours! What have you done to prepare yourself for the revolution today? Revolutionary Soccer: Building Comraderie, Encouraging health, and smashing the state!

Yes, the commie vs. anok game was the most fun I've had all month. And its exciting that so many more people want to come to the next one.

Can someone who knows please let everyone know when the next two games are.

Radicals playing the game and watching the game together is a great way to build unity. Hopefully tons more people will come next time and we can keep the cops from interfering.

Love it. But please keep those file sizes down--650KB per jpeg is totally unnecessary.

yep. pretty self-glorifying.

umm... meanwhile in iraq....

...things seem to be going pretty fucking poorly for the occupation.

It wasn't an anarchist or a communist who came up with the idea that we should never take a break. This is how people keep from getting burn-out. It doesn't mean we can't do revolutionary activities the rest of the week, but every now and again people need a break.

Would you rather have us work like slaves? The whole concept of the revolution is to be humans again instead of machines, is it then counter-revolutionary to relax?

Christ almighty (yes that IS a figure of speech if not reality) What you would rather be out doing ORGANIZING? Does the phrase humorless lefties mean anything to you at all? No wonder no one wants a revolution in this country if it is run by humor free gits.

Anyway it is possible for revolutionaries to like football!
