DOCTORS SUPPORT NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE
Today, a new proposal was unveiled for single-payer National Health Insurance, with the endorsement of thousands of physicians, including former Surgeon Generals and hundreds of medical school deans and professors. It is published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Dennis Kucinich, who has made National Health Insurance a centerpiece of his campaign, issued this statement:

"This is a historic day with thousands of doctors backing healthcare reform that addresses the key obstacle to universal coverage: private health insurance. Doctors have seen this obstacle up close. Private insurers add little to healthcare except waste, paperwork, marketing and advertising costs, profits, high executive salaries and sales commissions. Insurance firms don't heal or treat the sick, but they soak up huge amounts of resources that should go to treatment. Our country is already paying for national healthcare; we're just not getting it.

"Other Democratic presidential candidates propose tinkering with a flawed, bureaucratic system dominated by private insurance. But incremental changes haven't gotten our country anywhere close to universal coverage. As thousands of physicians are telling us, National Health Insurance is the cost-effective solution."

DENNIS VS. DEAN
"My plan is not reform," Howard Dean told the New York Times (July 30). "If you want to totally change the healthcare system, I'm not your guy." Dean supports incremental change that leaves the private insurance bureaucracy in the center of health care, and doesn't provide universal coverage.

Kucinich's plan of streamlined national health insurance for all is a proven success in industrial democracies far less wealthy than our country. For more on the Kucinich plan:
http://www.kucinich.us/issues/issue_universalhealth.htm

DENNIS & HEALTHCARE ON C-SPAN
On Thursday, Dennis and other candidates will offer their differing views on healthcare at a televised Iowa forum. Dennis will speak at approximately 3:30pm central/4:30pm eastern.

democratic party = genocide

1.5 million dead in iraq due to clinton's sanctions.
1/2 of them under the age of 16.
clinton's secy of state, when asked point blank about the death of half a milion children says "WE THINK THE PRICE IS WORTH IT."

tell me, is your mr. kucinich going to pull troops out of iraq, afghanistan, and the phillipines immediately after being elected?

tell me, is your mr. kucinich going to pay the native americans the 200billion+ stolen by the BIA over the last 40 years?

tell me, is your mr. kucinich going to win the democratic nomination? or will his supporters be urged to vote for bob kerry (the guy who openly admits slitting an old man's throat and killing children in vietnam) in the general election.

please, stop being so deluded. your delusions kill millions of people and create misery for billions.

work for revolution each and every day.

And I am not as idiotic as the Selected Prez.

Fist of all, it was Reagan and Sr. Bush who were responsible for the genocide in the Middle East. Clinton was guilty of re-inforcing the policy.

In addition, Reality Check, you should read this article. It'll help you. http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0,12271,1017546,00.html

Second, Kucinich is clear on his stand on the Iraq war. Read this:

Kucinich Calls for U.N. to Replace U.S. In Iraq
In statements from his Congressional office and on the campaign trail, Kucinich continued today to advocate that U.N. peacekeeping forces replace U.S. troops in Iraq. His stance is in stark contrast to other Democratic candidates; Howard Dean, for example, supports sending additional U.S. troops to Iraq (Meet the Press, 6/22).

Kucinich said today: "This weekend, with the deaths of 5 US troops, we were once again reminded of the dangers facing US troops in what has become a quagmire. To date 243 U.S. troops have died in Iraq. It is time that the United States begins the process of withdrawing our troops, and
allow a UN peacekeeping force to take over the reconstruction of Iraq.

"In their rush to war, the Administration failed to adequately prepare for the post-invasion period. Negotiations for an exit must begin now. An exit agreement with the United Nations must involve the US letting go of the contracting process.

"The UN must also take over management, accounting and distribution to the Iraqi people of Iraq's oil profits. Additionally, a transition from UN control to self- determined governing structure by and for the Iraqi people must be planned. Finally, the Administration, which unwisely ordered the bombing, must fund the reconstruction."

Your vitual revolution in your own mind aint gonna help anyone. Support a real candidate for real progressive changes for a better world.

Work for revolution everyday, vote for Kucinich in the primaries, then vote Green in the jokes we'll call the elections.

If you're generally the sort of person that loses your keys every other minute, then don't switch into the Democrats just to support Kucinich. Support the Greens continuously, since you might not find the momentum to switch back in time.

Whatever you do, don't cave to the panicked Democrats and support Dean - you're asking for Bush-lite, and you'll get it.

Thanks for your comments "reality calling"

And thanks for the numbers on Clinton. You know, he has helped kill more civilians in Iraq than Bush has. So who is the bigger war criminal. Under Clinton they just starved to death slowly. Under Bush they were shot.

Kucinch is a dead end for the antiwar movement. Did you see the picture of the Not In our Name rally last week. The Kucinich people got right up there and made sure their placards were photographed as often as possible. It made the rally seem more like a Democratic conclave than a militant antiwar rally.

Kucinich has admited that his aim isn't to win. It is to shore up the rightfully ailing leftwing of the Democrats, just when workers are leaving in droves, and not voting for a party that has been leading the charge in tandem with the Republicans against workers. Workers need to march out of the Democrats and start their own party.

Here is what Kucinich wants regarding war: a return to the quiet genocide of Bill Cliniton, Madeline Albright and the bombing of Belgrade. Wow, wouldn't that be great for the antiwar movement.

[8] A Renewed Commitment to Peace and Diplomacy
America will return to its role as the most admired—not hated—nation. The doctrine of "pre-emption" will be retired, as will an aggressive, unilateralist foreign policy that makes our homeland less secure, not more. Our security will be enhanced by working with other nations and the U.N. instead of acting like an Empire, arrogantly undermining international agreements such as the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty, the Biological and Chemical Weapons Conventions, the Small Arms Treaty, the International Criminal Court, and the Kyoto Climate Treaty. As President, Kucinich will work to implement two measures he sponsored in Congress: the Space Preservation Treaty, which bans space-based weapons, and a cabinet-level Department of Peace, to establish non-violence as an organizing principle in both domestic and international affairs.

A Kucinich administration will cut bloated and unneeded weaponry from a military budget that now almost equals the military spending of all other countries combined. The Kucinich peace dividend will be invested in education, health care, environmental clean-up, urban infrastructure, Social Security, veterans’ benefits, and other pressing domestic needs.

A few comments.....

"A Renewed Commitment to Peace and Diplomacy
America will return to its role as the most admired—not hated—nation. "

When the hell was the US ever the "most admired nation" ? Don't ya get it? The world hates the world domination by the U.S. Do the Palestinians love the US? Do the people of South America, enslaved to pay the IMF, love the US? Go to Argentina and ask.

Kucinich will be another Clinton in foreign policy. His phony "Department of Peace" will be used to squash righteous revolution whenever and wherever it breaks out to end US domination.

You may think you want Kucinich, but be careful. You might get what you are asking for: a sugar coated human right imperialist.

"cut bloated and unneeded weaponry from a military budget " That means a leaner more effiicient US war machine.....even conservatives want that. Revolutionaries want the entire military system destroyed.

Le't s see, instead of acting unilaterally like Bush to achieve imperialist goals, Kucinich will hide imperialist goals behind the bloody light blue flag of the United Nations. The people of Iraq rightly hate the United Nations. For over a decade the flag of the UN was used to starve and disarm their country. When they had worn down the population, along with the aid of Hussein, the US and the UK just walked right in and sat right down.

The United Nations is and always will be an imperialist entity. Imperialism is not a unified body, though, there are deadly inter-imperialist rivalries within the UN. Since US imperialism is the strongest, the US generally gets its way. If the less dominant imperialist powers are able to act as a hinderance to the US, it is only because of their own capitalist appetites.

So basically wants what Clinton had: sugar coated human rights imperialism. Dead babies in Baghdad and bombs in Belgrade.
You obviously don't know much about the UN.

It has a lot that can be criticized, but it kept the most powerful nation in the world out of Iraq for 5 months.

Bush would have been in there directly without the UN.

It's not perfect, no where near that. But it is vital for the world right now. Calling for its demise at this point is just supporting a right wing cause. The revolution isn't here, and millions could die without the UN and it's bloodly little flag. It's one of the only entities in the world that could have put the brakes on the US for as long as it did in Iraq.

Revolution is important, but the UN isn't where it needs to be starting.

If we don't rob Iraq's oil, how are we paying for the reconstruction cost? $ 500 billion.

I forgot. Pentagon already lost $ 1trillion dollars unaccounted for. If they happen to find the money, we'll all be happy. Problem solved.

More next week. Gotta go.
by Abraham
It's sad to see peopl like "Dave" who have been brainwashed by the far-rightists and unable to question the answers.

"How 'bout Social Security at 65. The system is already running out of $$. Who is going to pay for that?"

[For argument sake, let's Not going over the Pentagon has been wasting our tax dollars.]

Background info: The normal age for retirement was raised in phases beginning in 1983 from 65 to 67 years. The reason? People live longer.

We must start questioning the current system. "There are two sets of rules; executives get one set of rules and their employees have to play under a different set of rules." It's time to question and re-evaluate the balance between corporations and their workers.

Kucinich is against the privatization of the Social Security unlike what this administration and many other politicians who wish to sell out the public, especially in a downturn economy. It's important to have a leader like Kucinch who will look after the benefits of the workers and NOT just the executives.

Kucinich will make the Full Social Security at Age 65 possible through a number of means including reordering some national priorities and progressive tax structure.
by -stampy

Kucinich could not get elected mayor of s/f let alone anything else. to pretend to the contrary is ridicules. this post belongs in the joke of the day section. as Kucinich will not get 5% of the vote.

No one with a Mo Stooge haircut has ever been elected president. Dennis Kucinich won't be the first.

Dave, you really fit the profile of the conservatives that the U.S. government funded psychological study.

"Four researchers who culled through 50 years of research literature about the psychology of conservatism report that at the core of political conservatism is the resistance to change and a tolerance for inequality, and that some of the common psychological factors linked to political conservatism include:

Fear and aggression

Dogmatism and intolerance of ambiguity

Uncertainty avoidance

Need for cognitive closure
"

If you miss the news of Pentagon has been failing their accounting audit every year (except one), then you must have been missing all the basic knowledge of right and wrong. Do me a favor, do a simple search and see what you can come up with. It's more like $ 1.1 trillion that have gone unaccounted for since FY2001.

"why shouldn't the people of Iraq get the benefit of the oil money" Bush and his oil buddies are trying to steal their oil. Bush ordered to destroy their country for no legitimate reason, then to re-construct using their oil money by hiring American corporations.... You should ask Bush "WHY".

"UNIVERSAL LAWN CARE". Does any of these traits fit you?

Fear and aggression

Dogmatism and intolerance of ambiguity

Uncertainty avoidance

Need for cognitive closure
by Abraham
Dave, I know you have a deep rooted problem. DOn't go berserk on us. Calm down and breathe. Recite the following:

Fear and aggression
Dogmatism and intolerance of ambiguity
Uncertainty avoidance
Need for cognitive closure

You'll see the light when you abandon the conservative compassionate misguided agenda.
