Rachel Corrie Banner Project Demos

by Anti-Zionism Activist
The next one will be on Aug. 16 at Union Square between noon and 2pm or so, with the theme of boycotting Israeli goods and companies that contribute heavily to Israel, such as Estee Lauder, The Gap, and Victoria's Secret.
On the 16th of every month, The Rachel Corrie Banner Project, organized by Americans for Justice in Palestine-Israel, demonstrates in front of U.S. politicians' offices and other public locales to demand an end to U.S. support of apartheid Israel and an investigation into Corrie's tragic death, demanding that the Israeli soldier be brought to trial for his hideous crime.

Rachel Corrie is the 23-year old peace activist from Olympia, Washington, who was deliberately bulldozed to death by an Israeli soldier on March 16, 2003, while she was trying to defend a Palestinian family's home from being demolished. Since the beginning of the Second Intifada in Sept. 2000, over 12,500 Palestinians have been made homeless as the result of home demolitions by the Israeli army. This is collective punishment , officially a war crime according to International Law, and obviously a crime against humanity. Israel claims it is merely defending itself, but in actuality, it is just one aspect of the savagely cruel Israeli occupation of Palestine in an ongoing effort to ethnically cleanse non-Jewish Palestinians from their own homeland to make way for a "Greater Israel" for Jews, who are the only ones who enjoy completely equal rights in Israel.

The latest demonstration on July 16th, the fourth month anniversary of Rachel Corrie's martyrdom, was staged at Congressman Tom Lantos' office in San Mateo, California. About twenty demonstrators rallied, with two huge two-sided banners that feature a photo of Rachel Corrie in front of the bulldozer that killed her only moments later, and the text demands "Stop U.S. Support of Apartheid Israel NOW!" There was some media coverage of the demonstration including by the local San Mateo paper, which focussed on when an aide from Lantos' office came out to give out cookies for a photo opportunity. The caption at least included information about why the protesters were there in more-than-average detail for a mainstream U.S. newspaper.

Wendy Campbell, one of the organizers, was followed by a videographer-photojournalist into the building where she was admitted into Lantos' office. The video shows how she proceeded to give the aide Evelyn Szelenyi some of the protesters' literature, as she explained how the group believes that the U.S. government and Israel need to honestly address the unjust way in which Zionist Israel was founded and the ethnic cleansing campaign against the non-Jewish Palestinians that continues to this day, funded by U.S. tax dollars. "No people's suffering is more important than another people's suffering," Campbell pointed out.

The first rally was held on June 16 in front of Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi's office in protest of her unconditional support of apartheid Israel, a view which is also fully shared by Lantos. For more information on both of these rallies, including a link to video footage, please check out this website: http://www.distanceeddesign.com.

Americans for Justice in Palestine-Israel hope to spark a nationwide Rachel Corrie Banner Project movement, whereby concerned Americans will likewise raise banners and carry signs in front of their local politicians offices on a rotating basis on the 16th of every month until the U.S. stops supporting apartheid Israel, and demands justice for Rachel Corrie as well as for the Palestinians themselves. Free CDs with the artwork for the banner which can be brought to your local banner maker are available on a limited basis. Those who are interested in receiving one of these free disks, and/or more information, are encouraged to write to: Americans for Justice in Palestine-Israel, c/o Wendy Campbell, PO Box 10458, Oakland, CA 94610.

If the option is being a diffident asshole who, from the vantage point of his comfortable, intact, unthreatened home, mistakes righteous impassioned anger with the same deluded, self-righteous anger dripping from your post, there's no decision. I'd sooner follow Rachel to Palestine than you to Old Navy and your 'job.'

Lazy motherfucker.

burning a piece of paper is enough to get you bulldozed by a paid for american bulldozing machine.

Is Israel free of blame? no.

Should Jews bear the guilt? No
by protest US support of apartheid Israel
Rachel Corrie was obviously very angry at the way the US government, bought out by Zionists, as well the the Zionist-controlled media, is allowing Israel to continue on its racist, murderous ethnic cleansing campaign that began the day Israel was IMMORALLY in 1948 created by white European countries of the UN that unilaterally gave away Arab land that wasn't their's to give away to Jewish Supremacists aka Zionists. Instead, these hypocritical white European countries as well as the USA should have offered refuge and comfort to the Jews fleeing Germany and concentration camps.

No, instead of welcoming Jews into their own countries like they should have, they chose to artificially, militarily and immorally give away occupied land (by the British) to the cruelest of all occupiers ever: Zionist Jews who seem to be mimicking Nazis in more ways than one.

We will have police protection at the rally and WE have the law on OUR side, not Zionists who throw red paint or try to take away our freedom of speech. Plus any drama like that invites the media to expose your Zionist shenanigans for what they are: an anti-democratic attempt to stifle our freedom of speech. If you don't like it , why don't you just go on and move to IsraHell? Stop thinking Americans who are really Americans (skip the hyphens) should foot the bill for your racist stolen homeland that is cheating Americans out of billions of dollars that could be better spent here and putting Americans in harm's way because of Israel's bad karma coming back to haunt us as on 9/11 because the US is supporting the ethnic cleansing and slow mo genocide of non-Jews in Israel-Palestine. And we know the Zionists will not stop their aggressions just with Palestine. Poor Palestinians are just on the frontline. If Americans let Zionists have their way, it's just the beginning.

US support for Israel = Endless war. No thank you!

The united states is not owned by Israel.
To suggest that is nothing short of antisemitism which you are well familiar with obviously.

Nazis like you belong on white supremacists spaces not among genuine individuals who would like to experience Peace, and not scapegoat this catastrophe on innocents.

YOu are an antisemite, a racist and vermin

Is Israel free of blame? Apparently.
As far as i know no one is being charged with the murder of this woman. The driver could not see this woman in the bright orange/reflective/created-specifically-for-the-purpose-of-being-visable jacket weilding a megaphone, who was standing in front of him. So it is understandable that he go unpunished. Perhaps someone should bring charges against the bulldozer manufacturer for building such a faulty bulldozer that all foward visibility is blocked when operating it. (hmmmm? How do they find the buildings?)

Should Jews bear the guilt? No.
But perhaps the zionists should bear just a little, you know, just enough to not applaude or justify(poorly I might add) this human beings murder.
by so double stanDard
everyday people get killed by your own country and your country is not issuing apologies to its victims.

why are zionist held to a higher standard- because they may or may NOT be jews?

Trust me as a member of a native nation within the boarders of this disgusting country(and i'm talking about the real culture, not the ideal one) I do hold the USA to as high of a standard as I do Zionists, in fact I would say I am far more critical of the USA, and a lot more passionate about my distastes for its policies and actions.
Oh and perhaps you can go back, reread, take in the context and establish within your own mind the fact that my message was not aimed at Zionists in general, just the ones who applaude and justify(once again i must say poorly) the murder of Rachel Corrie. Perhaps what you are saying is that the target of my message does equate to zionists in general(those who applaude murder), im not really sure, but i will assume that it is just a misunderstanding, after all, you would not suggest that zionists in general would applaude and justify this womans murder, now would you?
by highly under the Zionist influence
And the US does own Israel in a way, and now is the time to DISOWN Israel. OBVIOUSLY an aircraft carrier would be a helluva alot less costly in terms of everything: tax payers dollars, international good will, credibility and morality.

It is HIGH TIME for the US to CUT THE CORD with IsraHell.

Let IsraHell (the racist "aircraft carrier" that is not worth being associated with) sink on its own. WE, TRUE Americans of all races and religions EVEN some Jews( who think of America as their homeland, not Israel) do NOT want to SINK with Israel.

Nope, no rhetoric of demonization there, demonizing an entire nation, no sir, no sir.

You are such a putz
by Zionists are the new Nazis
A Jewish state on stolen land where ethnic cleansing of non-Jews for an artificial, militarily-maintained Jewish "majority" is not worth protecting or giving any US tax dollars to.
Such a racist state where only one ethno-religio group has completely equal rights can hardly be called a democracy. What a joke! Duh!

Sink, Israel, sink!
