San Diego Activists Occupy Feinstein's Office, Demand Truth About WMD's
A group of about 6 activists from San Diego is currently occupying Diane Feinstein's office
A group of about 6 activists from San Diego is currently occupying Diane Feinstein's office. The group is called "San Diegans Opposed to Bush's First Illegal War" and this is their second CD action. During the war, they obstructed the entrance to the San Diego federal building by laying down around the doors.
Today they are in the office of Diane Feinstein, on 7th and B in downtown San Diego. There is also a rally outside in front of the building in support of the people occupying her office. The SD Union Tribune is there as well as 3 corporate TV camera crews.
The rally outside began at the civic center, and then marched to Feinstein's office building once the occupiers had entered her office. The people in her office have a contract with America for her to sign, which demands that she admit that the war was wrong and immoral, that she represents her constituents and speaks out against the war, and that she comes clean about the secret intelligence data with which she justified her vote for the war.
More updates will be posted as the situation continues.

Here's an update on this story:
- The activists have been told that they will have to leave by 5pm, and they said they will be happy to leave once Diane Feinstein signs their "Contract With America" agreeing that the war on Iraq was illegal and immoral and demanding a full investigation into the lies about WMD's.
- Senator Feinstein will be out of a meeting in half an hour, and the activists occupying her San Diego office are in contact with one of her assistants in Washington, who says that he will speak with her. They have faxed the contract to her Washington office.
- They are still occupying her office at 750 "B" Street, Suite 1030 (on the 10th floor) and they need people's support! If you can go there any time today, it would be a great help. If you can bring food, that would be awesome. They will need the most support at 5pm when the office is closing and the police will probably try to extract them.

is there any other cities in CA or any other states that are doing similiar work?
Hi all,
One of the "occupiers" here...we did leave tonight (under police escort)...BUT THIS IS NOT OVER! Diane Feinstein REFUSED to address our demands! Her SD staff faxed her the following response from us:
Senator Feinstein,
San Diegans against Bush's 1st Illegal War, many of whom have supported you in the past, are outraged.
After spending an entire day in you SD office we feel highly insulted that you chose to stonewall us on the demands contained in our faxed contract.
We have tried to outreach to you, in good faith, to give you an opportunity to repair the political damage YOU HAVE DONE TO YOURSELF through the course of this war.
Your response failed to address any of our criticisms and made us feel that you are siding with the Bush Administration.
You, yourself stated that you voted for this war, inspite of your constituents' opposition, due to priviledged information.
Were you mislead?
Or are you complicit?

At around 6pm the protesters were notified that the police would be called because they were tresspassing both in Feinstein's office, and in the building, which closes at 6.
The protesters had been successful in actually getting Diane Feinstein to look at their demands, and she refused to sign their contract. They decided that they had fired a strong enough "warning shot over Feinstein's bow" and decided to leave when asked to do so by the police. So, at around 7pm, they left the building, accompanied by one police officer.
