Adorable Child Thrown in Pen by Tom Ridge's Goons

by 7th & willow
Why does Tom Ridge hate children? Several hundred people protested Tom's visit to San Francisco today, but were all herded into "protest pens" to ensure that freedom of speech is severely limited, and that anyone expressing their opinions be surrounded by bars and armed guards. This innocent child was commanded into the protest jail by an SFPD officer.

It is a sad day when a tiny child is pushed into a protest pen by police in san francisco. What happened to our right to protest?

Yepp. Tom Ridge hates children. However, he did come up with a new toy for our children all around the world - bouncing duct tape balls. Millions of children all can have immense fun from playing with bouncing duct tape balls. They are safe, cheap and last forever.

Well the police have to be careful! I mean those children could have been a threat to the safety of the officers lives. Besided what kind of children would go and protest someone that is protecting us from terrorists? They must be terrorists themselves! I was out there myself today and I felt safer knowing that those children were being coralled!

This is one of the worst staged pictures I’ve ever seen. Notice how in picture 1 there is no back or side gating with several other protestors. In picture 2 they are in a different location because there is now a back gate and the background building has changed. Still there are no left and right gates and due to the way it's set up and location, I would venture to guess and say that it is a barrier used as a cross walk. There are also people from ANSWER in there too that seems to be crossing the street too.

I can take the same staged photo at any event that uses these crowd control barriers. Any sporting event, concert, or other mass attended event that uses these barriers I can make up the headline of “Adorable Child Thrown in Pen by (fill in the name of that organization here) Goons”

Congratulations on one of the worst staged picture and misrepresentative headlines I’ve seen in a long time.

Tax Payer, you need to take a deep breath and chill out. Of course the photo was somewhat staged, but the kid was likely there nonetheless, with a parent that was protesting.

To the last poster, I think Tom Ridge has imprisoned your sense of humor. But, to be clear, anyone who was there "protesting" had to go into the pen. Anyone who was there for anything else could stay outside of the pen. You can decide for yourself if this is how dissent should be in the United States.

Judging by the tone of the poster, I doubt it was sarcasm. Maybe you need to take your blindfold offs.

In the first photo. people are in the way of the back gate. It was a long rectangle and this photo was taken against the shorter end. In the second photo, there are less people as it was after the protest was dispersing. This one was taken along the long end, thus there is less space (and crowds) between the children and the back barrier. For the record, as the parent in question, the photos were not staged, the children were herded into the protest pens with everyone else.

Get some common sense. Many people that come to this web site are followers and believe 100% of everything you print. Showing these (cute) children with the information as you did, “Ridge Hates Children”, as evidenced by prior posts, people believe that SFPD officers really man handled these kids and put them behind bars. What you doing is no different than yelling FIRE in a crowed theater. Look at the other posts. People believe whatever you print. Try, just once, looking deep down inside yourself, AND PRINT THE TRUTH.

The barricades are there for your safety. They keep the children & protesters, same thing, from running into the streets, and getting hit by a car then suing the police because they didn’t protect you.

I fully understand what this web site is about, your views and believes, but for God sake, think about what you print. The truth would be nice once in a while.

some might conside my measures severe. however, look at this picture for evidence on how these little terrorists will get an inch of first amendment rights and take a mile. the road before us is a rocky one; full of peril at every turn. however as an american patriot, i pledge to my fellow countrymen; i will not rest until each and every potential rascallion -- of every and any age -- who would trample on our culture, and our values, is prevented from harming our homeland! (applause)

It's hilarious to know that some of you already got imprisoned body and soul by Tom Ridge and Ashcroft.

Tax Payer, I see you'd lost your sense of humor judging from your post.
