SF Prop N Vote on 7/15 due to "Professional Courtesy"

by 1 week for No on N
We heard it with our own ears on the KPFA news, 94.1 FM, 6 p.m., 7/8/03, from "progressive" members of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, who agreed to postpone the vote on Prop N to 7/15 due to its author's absence, out of "professional courtesy" to a "colleague," namely Gavin Newsom. That means you have a week to demand they vote No on N via US mail, phone, fax & E-mail.

Gavin Newsom is not a colleague of any decent person and he does not deserve any "professional courtesy" whatsoever. This language does not reflect the thinking of those who are adversely affected by this puppet of the Chamber of Commerce, the workingclass, but rather it is the fig leaf of decency the middle class professionals are trained to give their capitalist paymasters and richer mouthpieces.

Those who are using such language know better and need to be made aware that they are not being paid as employees in a private profit business environment but rather they are elected representatives who must act and speak decisively in their constituents' best interests. Since the majority of this Board claims to be pro-tenant, which in San Francisco is overwhelmingly the workingclass, they must speak and act decisively and quickly in the interests of labor.

As to Supervisor Gavin Newsom, he was appointed by his fellow fascist, "mayor" Willie Brown, despite the fact that he had no sincere qualifications and claimed only the fact that he is rich as being his qualification. He was challenged by a pro-tenant candidate in the last election, but his district, the Marina-Pacific Heights, is so reactionary that just being rich was considered sufficient qualification by the majority.

No fascist can be a colleague or is deserving of "professional courtesy." We expect the Board of Supervisors to vote at least 9 to 2 No on N (the 2 being Newsom and Dufty) as 8 of the 9 claim to be pro-tenant and pro-labor supervisors. All 11 of them know that Prop N does nothing to solve any homeless problem and in fact makes it worse.

And, both the Green and Democratic Parties officially opposed Prop N. This Board consists of 9 Democrats, 1 Green and 1 "independent." Two Democrats, Dufty & Newsom, support Prop N. The others claim to oppose it. Considering their respective party's position, they should have no trouble voting No on N.

NOW IT IS YOUR TURN. You must write, call, E-mail and/or fax the 9 votes we should have to defeat Prop N so that we can work on a serious program, proposed by the People's Budget Collaborative, to house the homeless. They all have voicemail so you can call them at any time. They all make decisions about all of our needs, so it does not matter where you live. The US mail address is City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton Goodlett, San Francisco, CA 94102. The other contact information is at:

You should put their home addresses in there too. I need a lawn to camp on tonight.

It absolutely does. I'm a working class guy who does a grunt job all day. I live in the Mission. I am tired of having to hose piss and s**t off my front steps every night when I get home. Some homeless guy was pissing on my porch *right in front of me* and *I* got a warning from the cops when I threw a bucket of water at him!

If Care Not Cash gets rid of even 10 percent of the homeless it is something worth doing. I'd love to just drink all day and do nothing, too, but what kind of a city would that be if we had 700,000 people just getting drunk and high all day?

You people keep saying you want the homeless to be able to do anything they want in the city because it helps the working class. Please explain how having someone crap on my porch helps me?!?

Why don't we have your problem over here, Joe?

Why, if your GNP is so much higher than it is here in Australia, do you have so many homeless people?

Why do you have one of the highest infant mortality rates in the western world?

Why do so few Americans read?

Why do underclass Americans working two jobs struggle to afford the basic necessities of food, clothing and shelter?

Why are American citizens denied universal health cover?

Why do people crap on your porch, Joe?
