As one person said, I don't know what they feed the cops in sacramento for breakfast. I was involved in this police action and i must say the cops were psycho. I was right next to the woman who was injured. She, and a few others were attempting to talk to the bicycle riot police that were illegally detaining us, while simultaneously ordering us to disperse. We were not a part of the road blocking action at all; yet the police felt i necessary to wade into the peaceful crowd with tazers and shove people into the other riot police that were keeping a barrier.
At this point we were so scared of more random police attacks that people started breaking down in fear. It was only when some level-headed police officer realized that we weren't breaking the law by standing on the sidewalk that we were finally allowed to leave. after, of course, the arrest of two of our compatriots for no aparent reason.

people used to be horrified at electrical torture in third world cia-dictatorships,like pinochets' neo-nazi regime in Chile. This is possibly the first time electrical torture devices have been used by lines of riot cops against demonstrators in the U.S.. people need to write and send documentation to Amnesty International, and the U.N. commission on Human Rights (in Geneva, Switzerland). The World will condemn this new standard of Fascism.
by no need for whiners!

in other words you are just sniveling...if you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen. we do not need whiners! But that is mostly what I see on this list any more whiners, moaners, complainers, this group was
pathetic, full of people bitching from the onset (its "too"hot) (I "don't like to walk") (this sign is "too heavy") the police look up-set. (give me a break!)
the one part of the day where anything actually got interesting, and how do I find it depicted on this page? some one has taken the opportunity to engage in a full fledged tear jerker. all I have to say is suck it up , what a pathetic little weasel. next time stay home and let the rest of us do "your work"
that way we will not have to listen to this pathetic crap..
if not for the whiners, moaners, complainers, snivelers, this might have been a really enjoyable protest.

Sound like what happened to us in Albuquerque when the police went berserk and rioted during a demonstration the day after the war started. Part of the problem is that for the last 30 years and especially after Seattle and Sept. 11 the cops have been given all these military-style toys and they're just itching to use them. It's time for a domestic disarmament campaign!

Daniel Weintraub: Cops' protest tactics cost lots in dollars and in liberty
By Daniel Weintraub -- Bee Columnist

I thought the anti-globalization demonstrators who descended upon Sacramento last week were, for the most part, overly afraid of the future and hopelessly wedded to the status quo, no matter how bad it is for billions of people in the developing world.
But as the conference of agricultural ministers, and the demonstrations, came to a close, I realized that something else bothered me even more than what the protestors had to say. It was the way the state and local police forces mobilized to keep them from saying it, or at least to keep many people from hearing their message.
