'HUMEH, Jordan, June 22 — L. Paul Bremer III, the chief United States administrator in Iraq, vowed today to dismantle that country's state-run economy by selling off government-owned companies and writing new laws to encourage foreign investment.'

Don't mean to get off the topic, but the war on Iraq sounds more and more like the British shuffing opium down China's throat in exchange for China's goods and materials roughly 100 years ago.

British didn't have anything to trade with China for their silver, silk, crafts, pottery.... Guess what they came up with? Opium. After the Western Allies (Remember the good ole allied forces) cut up Canton, Beijing, Shanghai among them. The Chinese rebelled and were labeled terrorists and got slaughtered.

Look at Iraq and what's happening. Any similarities?
