Jerry Brown Once Again Goes Public In Support Of Violence Against Nonviolent Gatherings
Police defended their use of "sting grenades," which explode in a shower of rubber pellets and a small amount of tear gas, after the Carijama Festival in Mosswood Park.
On the Channel 2 News, Jerry Brown openly defended the use of deadly force on kids. When asked if street parties were just an innocent form of fun, Brown responded that "there are hundreds of things to do in Oakland". Note that aside from having his thugs shoot at kids with the sole aim of dispersal, Jerry also talked about preventing future festivals from parks in Oakland. With Brown's recent attempt to sell his loft near Jack London Square for over 4 million, one wonders what Jerry has in mind when he says "other things to do" ("Cant they just go to Tahoe or go out on their yahts?"). One also wonders how this creep ever had a show on KPFA, was chummy with Chomsky and talked about nonviolence with the Dalai Lama. As mayor, Brown has already openly given information about activists to a state agency that sees antiwar protests as terrorism. Imagine the danger of Brown as California Attorney General!!
"It's very disappointing they still haven't learned how to do crowd control using police officers instead of nonlethal weapons," said Councilwoman Jane Brunner. "The police chief said this would not happen again. It clearly points out that the Police Department needs another alternative mode for dealing with crowds."

The State Board of Education was able to grant that charter because Gray Davis had appointed Republican Don Fischer, at the behest of that good Democrat, San Francisco mayor Willie Brown, to this Board of Education so that Fischer would be in a position to approve extension of the charter for the reactionary Edison Project in San Francisco as Fischer has a vested interest in this particular charter school racket. He also approved Jerry Brown's military charter school.
As to the horrors of California attorrney generals, they are all horrible as they all promote the anti-workingclass capitalist agenda. Democrat Lockyer gladly kept tabs on the people who organized the picket of the Oakland docks on April 7. He presides over California's horrofic prison-concentration camp system and death penalty program. Peace & Freedom Party and the Green Party will have candidates for attorney general on the ballot who by definition are anti-death penalty. The Democrat-Republicans are by definition pro-death penalty.

...ummm, possibly because he's in the business of OKing violent assault and murder instead of preventing it? don't be fooled...at the very least, he's more than willing to create the conditions that lead to murder, and obviously willing to use so-called "less lethal" force on non-violent crowds. if the police can't de-escalate two stabbings without risking people's lives (assuming the stabbings are even the issue at all), then they should all step down. in fact, they should all step down period. the people -- especially oppressed people -- should run Oakland, not a bunch of corrupt corporate elite thugs.

This should come as no surprise. Anyone who has heard the original version of the Dead Kennedys' "California Uber Alles" knows what Governor Moonbeam was all about, even "back then" (circa 1978).
