Are you trying to say you want my forced labor to support people, just because of the way I look?
Or will you only take the labor of great-grand-descendents of people who owned slaves, whether they were white or black?
Will you also take money from people of Arabic origin whose ancestors had slaves more recently? Or is it more like whether they "vote right" that determines whether you sponge off them? Or...?

in 1905, your ancestors came here seeking a better life than they one they had in europe. and they found one. the foundation of that better life is primarily based on hundreds of years of chattel slavery of african people and the theft of the land and the genocide of its occupants. this is the basis for the obscene, collective wealth of white society. that is painfully obvious to anyone who isn't in blind denial.
and, this is the basis for their descendents (your) prosperity, and it is the basis for the emiseration and desperate poverty of the descendents of africans and indigenous people.
so yes, you owe. as soon as the african community internalizes that, it won't matter whether or not you believe that you owe. i'd suggest it will go easier for everyone if us white people come to terms with reparations. thanks to wendy and the uhuru movement for giving us that opportunity.

How do explain the fact that those states who allowed African slavery were also the most backward and impoverished? The native tribes were pushed back by civilization (as they have been throughout history) but at least they were not deliberatly slaughtered and enslaved en masse as they were in other parts of the world. Native tribes were offen paid for the land, and those that were not directly hostile to settlers fared much better than others. No argument that none of this would pass our current moral tests, but let's have some historical perspective, please.
Why is it that the real villians of the slave trade- namely the Arabs- are never indicted for what they did? They ran the slave trade LONG after our own Civil War. They enslaved far, far, more Africans than Europeans did, and often castrated the males. The Sahara was littered with bones for hundreds of years by the slave caravans...but this is never mentioned.
