9/11 Cover Up by the Bush's Administration

by Abraham
The White House has been the major force blocking release of the Final Report of the Congressional Joint Inquiry into the events of 9-11. On CBS News' Face the Nation on 4/11/03, Bob Graham has publicly accused the White House of trying to cover up such ongoing threats — and its own intelligence failures — by refusing to declassify information about them. Graham Alleges a 9/11 'Coverup'
Democratic Florida senator, running for the presidency, says intelligence failures are being kept secret, endangering Americans.

By Josh Meyer, Times Staff Writer

WASHINGTON — Sen. Bob Graham on Sunday accused the Bush administration of engaging in a "coverup" of intelligence failures before and after the Sept. 11 attacks to shield it from embarrassment, and said the war with Iraq has allowed Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups to become a greater threat to Americans than ever before.

Graham, a presidential candidate and former chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, also accused the administration of jeopardizing the safety of Americans by blocking the release of a landmark congressional report on the government failures that preceded the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. The Florida Democrat said the White House has withheld from the public important information about the continued existence of terrorist cells in the United States — including some with ties to foreign governments that the U.S. has been afraid to go after.

"By continuing to classify that information the American people have been denied important information for their own protection, for the protection of the communities," Graham said on CBS News' "Face the Nation."

"Local agencies have been denied information which would help them be more effective. First responders and the American people do not have the information upon which they can hold the administration and responsible agencies accountable," Graham said, adding: "I call that a coverup."

Even before announcing his candidacy for president last week, Graham had been outspoken in criticizing the Bush administration's record on counter-terrorism, saying its focus on war with Iraq has allowed Al Qaeda to regroup and Hezbollah and other terrorist networks to flourish.

But Sunday's remarks appeared to be the first time that Graham has publicly accused the White House of trying to cover up such ongoing threats — and its own intelligence failures — by refusing to declassify information about them.

Graham said he was basing his accusations on classified information he has received as a ranking member of the Senate intelligence committee, and as a leader of last year's joint congressional inquiry into the Sept. 11 attacks.

That inquiry by the intelligence committees of the House and Senate focused on missteps made by U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies in the years and months before the attacks, and on ways to prevent terrorist acts on U.S. soil. It reviewed hundreds of thousands of pages of CIA, FBI and National Security Agency files, interviewed hundreds of front-line law enforcement and intelligence agents and held a series of public and closed-door hearings before adjourning to complete its final report.

Graham said the joint inquiry report was completed more than five months ago and provides very detailed information on "the buildup to Sept. 11." It also raises policy questions as to whether "those lessons have been applied since."

Graham said the public needs to know those details, but that the joint inquiry staff has been blocked from releasing large segments of the final report because the Bush administration has insisted that it remain classified —including information already disclosed in public hearings.

"I think what they are shooting at is to cover up the failures that occurred before Sept. 11 [as well as] the failure to utilize the information that we have gained to avoid a future Sept. 11," Graham said on the talk show.

"I think the American people should be informed about what kind of capability terrorists have inside the United States. They should be informed about the prospect that foreign governments have been aiding the terrorists in the United States. They should be informed of why we are not using that information to do a more effective job of dealing with terrorists where they live, and when they've been placed in the United States," Graham said. He added that such information remains "currently classified for the American people, unnecessarily so."

Bush administration officials on Sunday denied that they have engaged in any kind of coverup. They said it takes time to carefully declassify such a lengthy and sensitive report.

The report in question is based on more than 400,000 pages of highly classified material that, if released, could jeopardize national security, White House spokesman Tucker Eskew said.

"We have been working cooperatively with the joint inquiry from the beginning so that the American people will know what happened," Eskew said.

"I don't think the American people want their government to release operational details or sources and methods that could compromise our national security."

Many people are putting extraordinary faith and energy behind Sen. Bob Graham's efforts at full disclosure. But do we really wish to make Graham the champion of our
cause? Please do not forget that on the morning of 9/11, Sen. Graham was having breakfast with Pakistani ISI Director Lt. Gen. Mahmood Ahmed; the man who wired $100,000 into Mohamed Atta's account: Refer to link:

"September 11, 2001: At the time of the 9/11 attacks, and at least until the second crash into the WTC, Pakistani ISI Director Lt. Gen.Mahmood Ahmed is meeting in Washington, DC, with the chairmen of the House and Senate Intelligence Committees, Senator Bob Graham and Representative Porter Goss (who is also a former CIA clandestine operations agent). Both later head the joint House-Senate investigation into the 9/11 attacks, and claim there is no 9/11 "smoking gun." As previously mentioned, Lt. Gen. Mahmood Ahmed ordered $100,000 sent to hijacker Mohamed Atta in 2000. The New York Times says the terrorist threat from bin Laden is being
discussed in the meeting when the 9/11 attacks begin."

Let's hear Sen. Graham explain this before we put any more faith into his "trojan campaign of truth". Don't let
yourself be suckered.

Denied there was a cover up? They're assholes and everyone knows it. A plane hits the WTC and Bush is getting funky with the kids for about 20 more minutes. Cheney the brave sits tight inside a mountain, Rummy checks out all the workmen/labourers who died because the area the plane hit in the Pentagon was the information storage section which was under construction so it was mostly painters etc who got iceds. This whole administration sucks ass. Feed these bums to the lions. Just one mans opinion? I doubt it.

Whose side am I on? Strange question.
I think anyone who favors full disclosure on 9/11 should be very aware of misinformation and red herrings. In concept I fully support Sen. Graham's position - we need more people agitating for information. It is unacceptable to let the White House block the release of the 9/11 congressional report. In that respect Sen. Graham is providing a wonderful and necesary service. However his "coincidental conection" to Lt. Gen.Mahmood Ahmed is certainly worrying and will one day need to be explained. In the mean time - if Graham succeeds in securing the release of just one document - well that's great. Just don't put all your hopes in him.
Whose side am I on? Well I don't believe the "official story", if that answers your question.

i too do not believe the "official story". nor do i put all my hopes on senator graham. but right about now would be a good time to launch discrediting attacks against the senator if you were a bush administration official...

given your comments, the article they were made to, and the timing, perhaps i mistook them for something they were not. nevermind. my mistake. i was just doing a little testing...

A REAL 9/11 INVESTIGATION WOULD GO SOMETHING LIKE THIS:

First-stop calling what didn't happen or what was ALOOWED to happen "intelligence failures".Too many agencies failed on the same day to be a "failure".PEOPLE WERE TOLD,AT WHATEVER LEVEL THEY FELL IN,TO NOT DO THEIR JOB,AND NOT TO FOLLOW STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE.
Now-we get groups of people that were supposed to have worked together, like Bush and whoever else was with him in that school that morning, and the Secret Service, and grill 'em!! "Why didn't you evacuate the President IMMEDIATELY,when you weren't supposed to know the nature of the threat,Bush schedule was publicized, and there was an airport very close to the school?" Along those lines.
Then we give the FAA and NORAD the same treatment: "Hey,FAA,why didn't you notify NORAD IMMEDIATELY when the planes changed course and didn't respond to your calls?" Put all this on TV-all channels.even the simplest questions don't seem to have logical answers-that's why the media has been SILENT-they know if they ask just ONE perfectly logical question, they'll be forced to keep "going" until the Truth is revealed.!

In case you hadn't realized yet, Bob Graham and the Mainstream Media are engaging in what is called a "Limited hangout." A Limited hangout is a piece of disinformation that is designed to look like an "expose" of secret information but in fact serves to divert and deflect attention from the real issues itself.

In this case, Bob Graham himself is a highly suspicious character given that on ON THE MORNING OF 9-11 no less, Bob Graham and Porter Goss among others were meeting with the Pakistani ISI chief who allegedly gave $100,000 to Mohammed Atta no less.

Also, let's see if Graham or Newsweek talk about the fact that at least 2 of the 19 hijackers (including Mohammed Atta) trained as American Military Bases such as Maxwell Airforce Base in Alabama and Monterey Defense Institute in California! If these guys had been training at say IRAQI military bases, everybody here would be screaming that its a "Smoking Gun" of Saddam's connection to Al-Queda. When in fact these guys trained at AMERICAN military bases, all you people ignore this fact and act as if it never happened.

Here is a good analysis of the Bob Graham issue and the phony expose by Newsweek:

http://www.nomorefakenews.com/archives/archiveview.php?key=324

May 1. A large government study on what went wrong leading up to 9/11 is in the can. Ready for publication and release.

But the White House and the CIA have scrubbed its contents to the point where it is a shadow of its former self.

So now we have a nice little dispute going. In Congress, Bob Graham and Porter Goss are howling about the censorship.

The report basically recounts all the signs and warnings that went unheeded by the US intelligence community.

The White House, planning to invoke 9/11 as a sacred tragedy when Bush runs in 2004, doesn't want to besmirch that PR jive with a whole set of revelatoions which suggest that 9/11 could have been prevented.

However, this all boils down to a dispute which is itself a limited hangout.

In other words, "Let's argue about whether to release a report that contains no real surprises."

"Let's argue about a report that never explores any of the real crimes and cover-ups surrounding 9/11---such as, how did the FBI decide in two days that 19 particular Arab hijackers were on those planes."

"Let's argue about a report that, even in its uncensored form, avoids the 5000 real issues."

"If we argue long enough, people will think we're really arguing about something. But we aren't."

"Let's set up a straw man and argue about him."

This is all a wrinkle on the classic limited hangout, in which a piece of the truth is exposed to head off the revelation of the really damaging stuff.

And who are the pros on doing limited hangouts? Yes, the White House is good, but the CIA has been at it for more than 50 years.

And Congressman Porter Goss, one of the Congressmen screaming about unnecessary censorship, is a former CIA officer.

Way to go, Porter. Love that apoplexy. That indignation. That moral outrage. It's a gem.

Thanks for your response. I can understand your reaction to my first post. After all this may not be the best time to attack Sen. Graham. His background to 9/11 smells fishy, but there may well be an explanation for it.
In any case he is helping to draw much needed attention back to this critical issue. I fear that the net result of his "campaign" will be to embarrass the Bush administration and to further the "incompetence angle." Case closed. Movie of the Week. Meanwhile those of us who believe that there was something more malicious at play - "the complicity angle" - will have to keep up the pressure. One step at a time, I guess.

One thing is certain - Sen. Graham .gets the headlines - and right now that's a good thing. He's certainly better than Kissenger! One a lighter note here's a link to a recent Toronto article which asks some of the big questions about 9/11. The writer just sent me a message that she was overwhelmed with positive response - mostly from America! That rose my spirits.

Congressional Quarterly's Craig Crawford, who has been covering Graham's crusade closely, told WABC Radio on Tuesday: "I think Bob Graham has a smoking pistol on the Bush administration. The problem is that what [Graham] knows - and he knows some very damaging stuff about the Bush administration's failures before 9/11 to prevent 9/11 - he can't talk about because it's classified."

Bob Graham is a Rat. If you trust him, you deserve what you get.

Liberals like "this thing here" and "Abraham" are such a bunch of suckers, they will swallow every phony "revelation" told to them by their Politicians and Propaganda Media that they resemble a Poodle licking its own ass.
