Infractions and Courtesy Letters:

In SF, everyone whose charges don't involve violence or vandalism are being dropped from misdemeanors to infractions. You'll probably get a 'courtesy' form letter in the mail. Or when you show up to your arraignment, they will send you to room 101 (the traffic clerk) to pay the fine or set a court date. If you want to contest this, join a thousand of your friends and fax us: the letter, your citation & your contact info to 415-285-5066. We'll set them for a hearing in big groups.
Lots of people who faxed their info to us are getting a second notice saying they've missed the deadline and are going to be fined $250. Don't worry. This is the court's screwup. They're overwhelmed with the numbers of people fighting for justice rather than rolling over and paying the fine! If you get this letter, give us a call to verify that we've submitted your case to the court, but don't panic.

Everyone Else:

We've got cases in 5 jurisdictions now (SF, Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, and Federal court). We are helping people find lawyers and organize legal support. If you haven't contacted the legal team yet, give us a call 415-285-1011!
There are arrestee meetings every Wednesday at 6:30 (see http://actagainstwar.org/calendar.php?calid=145).

We Need:

Volunteers! We've been going 24 hours a day since before the war started (those of you who call at 3am know it's true) and we've got months to go. We really need you to come in and help out. Our office is located in the Mission in SF. Give us a call 415-285-1011
Money! We offer legal support for free, but it does cost some bucks. We ask that everyone with a case (and everyone else) make a small donation of $10 - $25.
