Motorcade on Franklin St., SF; was it Bush?

by Oliver
Big escorted motorcade seen today on Franklin St., SF; was it Bush?
This could be a totally unrelated event, but just as I was reading about Bush's upcoming visit to Santa Clara, I saw a motorcade, with many police escorts and multiple vans, stop traffic as it headed north on Franklin St. (near Market), in San Francisco. Today is April 29, Wednesday, and I witnessed the motorcade at 8:50 am. I realize that this is a long shot, but, such motorcades being a rare sight, could Bush be in San Francisco today?

I found out this spring that Gray Davis gets the same kind of treatment! He had biiiiiiiig motorcades with massive police escorts and multiple SUVs! It costs a couple hundred thousand dollars every time he comes to the City by the Bay.

My informant is recently retired SFPD.

Don't think it was Bush. According to what I've read, he's supposed to fly in to Moffet field Friday morning, give his speech, and then fly out to Texas. I don't think he has the balls to stay in the bay area for any more time than he has to, and he definately doesn't have the balls to go to San Francisco right now.
