Updated Details on Bush Visit Friday
Bush's current schedule is to land at Moffett Field at 9:00 am, speak at United Defense from 9:30 - 10:30, then leave for Texas. United Defense is near San Jose airport, along Coleman. It's extremely large though, so we will still have to figure out just where to go. And Bush may change his plans at the last minute - he's done it before. Here is a map with the approximate location of United Defense. Here is map showing the location of Moffett Field.
We've set up a cell-phone text-messaging group to help coordinate protests when Bush visits Silicon Valley on Friday, May 2. We expect there will be some uncertainty that morning as to where the protests will take place. If you sign up for this group, you will receive messages that morning with information on where the protests are exactly.
The service is amazing and free! If you have a cell phone that can receive messages--and almost all cell phones can--you can participate. On most phones, receiving messages is free, but on some there may be a small charge per message (like 10 cents). Sign up by clicking here and then clicking "Register Now" in the upper left corner of the screen.

Damn George Bush! Because of him criminal Iraqi children are now running free! Who cares if Saddam was murdering thousands of his citizens every year, they were only Iraqis!!!!
*The Carlyle Group bought United Defense in October 1997*

For many of its key U.S. Department of Defense programs, United Defense is the sole-source prime contractor and systems integrator. The company's 5,300 employees are recognized for their outstanding research and development efforts in key technologies, development of combat system operating software and highly efficient manufacturing processes.
Yeah? Prove it, schmuck. Even Amnesty International, which reports on such figures for all countries all over the world, reports only "hundreds" every year. How many are dead in the Congo? Do you care? No, I think you only spout lies about Saddam and Iraq because your government told you to. Learn to think for yourself -- look behind the curtain, Dorothy.
Shame on us all for putting up with this,
A very concerned American

United Defense LP, which developed the Bradley fighting vehicle at its Santa Clara plant, will be the location of a visit by President George W. Bush on Friday.
During the visit, Mr. Bush is expected to deliver an address talking about the Iraq war, the economy and national security.
The United Defense Grounds Systems Division employs about 700 workers at the Santa Clara facility. The company, based in Arlington, Va., near the Pentagon, makes various types of combat vehicles -- the Bradley itself comes in several designs -- as well as artillery and naval guns and precision munitions.
The company was originally known as Food Machinery Corp., or FMC.
Anti-war activists poised to voice their concerns to President Bush during his Friday visit to a defense contractor fear they may not get to catch a glimpse of the commander in chief at all.
Bush is scheduled to pay a visit to United Defense Technologies in Santa Clara. Activists scouted the office park Tuesday, hoping to stake out a spot within view of Bush's motorcade.
"But if it's the Secret Service's call, we could be miles from there," said Paul George, director of the Peninsula Peace and Justice Center.
Activists have requested a city permit to conduct their protest. They hope to urge Bush to remove troops from Iraq and focus on domestic issues, such as job losses in Silicon Valley where the president will be visiting.
The technology-heavy region has lost 191,000 jobs in the past 30 months, according to industry groups.
