Silicon Valley Bush Protest on May 2 & Text Messaging!
Protest for Bush Visit to Silicon Valley on Friday, May 2 & Text Messaging System to Coordinate Protest!
PLEASE DISTRIBUTE THIS WIDELY AMONG THE ACTIVIST COMMUNITY
Bush is coming to Silicon Valley on Friday, May 2. Come join us to give him a Bay Area welcome! See some info at http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2003/04/26/MN252637.DTL
I've set up a cell-phone text-messaging group to help coordinate protests when Bush visits Silicon Valley on Friday, May 2. I expect there will be some uncertainty that morning as to where the protests will take place. If you sign up for this group, you will receive messages that morning with information on where the protests are exactly. The service is amazing and free! If you have a cell phone that can receive messages--and almost all cell phones can--you can participate. On most phones, receiving messages is free, but on some there may be a small charge per message (like 10 cents). Sign up by clicking here and then clicking "Register Now" in the upper left corner of the screen: http://upoc.com/group.jsp?group=Hi_W_May2
Don't worry--the group will only be active Thursday and Friday, and you can turn it off at any time to avoid getting messages you don't want. More information about plans for Friday will be posted at http://www.peopleagainstempire.org as it becomes available.
