Shut Down Lockheed Martin!
Lockheed Martin is the World's Largest Weapons Manufacturer. They use OUR tax dollars to create the weapons of mass violence that killed nearly two thousand Iraqi Civilians within the last month. This is Direct, non-violent action.

I need at least one more camera man or woman!!!
Come to the orientation the night before and stay in the Southbay (accommodations will be provided), or arrive the morning of the action, From San Francisco, take Caltrain to Mountain View, transfer to the VTA Lightrail system, and get off at the "Lockheed" station. Bikes are allowed, it's a 75 minute trip, and orienters will be waiting for you. Please plan to arrive by 6am, though actions will continue throughout the day.
(Note: Among other weapons of mass destruction, Trident II submarine-launched ballistic nuclear warhead-carrying missiles are made at this site.)
OUR GOALS:
DISRUPT THE BUSINESS OF WAR PROFITEERING!!!
If the government will not halt its dangerous & irresponsible policy of pre-emptive invasions, we will stop the businesses that profit from warmaking. We will use NON-VIOLENT DIRECT ACTION to shut down corporations whose executives line their
pockets by exporting death & destruction worldwide.
EDUCATE
We will apply strong political pressure on government officials to STOP UNPROVOKED INVASIONS by our government.
CONTRIBUTE TO A VIBRANT AND GROWING ANTI-WAR MOVEMENT
Make plans to get to the orientation locations listed below
either the night before or the day of the action.
Also check the SouthBay Mobilization website for past actions at LockheedMartin in Sunnyvale, and flyers distributed there.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
FORM AN AFFINITY GROUP NOW Get a group of 5 to 25 people together now to plan for the action. Make plans to get to the orientation locations either the night before or on the day of the action. Send someone from your group to the spokes-council meeting on Sunday.
CHOOSE FROM THE ACTION MENU DU JOUR Three separate actions are recommended for that day. Decide which one you want to be a part of and prepare for that.
1. Mass Die-in: Represent those killed in Iraq by laying in the street dressed as a victim of war
2. Civilian Weapons Inspectors are needed to "inspect" at one of the entrance to Lockheed Martin Facilities. Come prepared to investigate!
3. Form a human blockade to shut down the war profiteers and disrupt business. Bring music and be ready to celebrate life.
If you would like to receive email updates on this action from the SouthBay or on major changes to this webpage, please fill out this form. Thanks!
COME TO A SPOKESCOUNCIL MEETING This action is being planned by a de-centralized spokes council. No one person is in charge of planning the action, so everyone can speak up. Come have your group's voice heard by being a spokesperson for your affinity group. The next spokescouncil meeting will be Sunday April 20th at 5 p.m. in San Francisco, at St. Boniface Church (see homepage for exact address). How did the protest at Lockheed Martin go? Any arrests? Pictures?
Good luck!
Good luck!
Mañana, Uncle Melted.
Beyong thier weapons making LM Information Technology section is the one developing and implementing the CAPPS II system that will eventually assign a "threat level" to all Americans traveling on any public transport, air, train, bus etc.
I was looking at channel 2 coverage at 7:30 and it was awful. They were interviewing an eloquent Stanford student who gave a very good explanation of why they were there, but while she was speaking, the cameraperson kept zooming in and out on members of the band. The band was playing a good song, and no one was out of tune, but as the TV transitioned to the traffic report, the traffic guy kept screaming "aaah, turn it off. that sounds horrible!" and then they showed more footage of the brass band playing and the traffic guy says "stop it! stop it! there should never be bands at protests. that's totally horrible" and the other teleprompter reader says "it's like the Stanford band" and the traffic guy starts his traffic report saying "well, let's see if .. these people ..<pause> have caused backups on Matilda (?) Way in Sunnyvale. The whole newscast had the quality of a high school radio station.
It looked like the police had been working on engineering a device for cracking through the lock-pipes for the people lying locked together and were removing people faster than normal. We sort of have to do adaptive evolution if they're going to be clearing people away within 30 min. They also showed some horses.

The action this morning was quite successful. All of those planning to lock down did so successfully though the space was not held down so well at the 1st and Mathilda intersection. At 3rd it was kept til 8:30, then came 1st St. and then H at about noon or so...
There was a guy injured by the police. When they cut through the lockbox they cut him pretty badly. Its funny how I saw a reporter writing that down from the San Jose Mercury news but there isn't any mention of it... rather that there was "no violence."
Also, at H street a deputy hit a legal observer with his club for no reason, and then arrested her.
