"Convicing evidence" means a credible document from a credible source that Iraq continues to possess militarily significant quantities of nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons - beyond those residual weapons it has declared to UN inspectors.

George W. Bush has repeatedly declared that destruction of Iraq's Al Samoud 2 missiles would not be enough to prevent war, because they are "just the tip of the iceberg" (Feb 27, Feb 22). 

So where's the iceberg? 

General Hussein Kamel said that in 1991, "All weapons-- biological, chemical, missile, nuclear, were destroyed" (p. 13). 

How would he know? As the head of Iraq's Military Industrialization Committee until 1995, he was in charge of all weapons of mass destruction. He was also Saddam Hussein's son-in-law. 

Who did he tell? UN inspectors and the CIA. Where did he tell them? Outside Iraq, in Jordan, after he defected with cartons of documents and key aides in 1995. 

Who believes him? Everyone, including George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Colin Powell, and Tony Blair. 

Where is he now? Dead. He returned to Iraq to try to replace his father-in-law as Iraq's leader, and he was assassinated. He paid the ultimate price for telling the world the truth.
