Join us in a picket of warmonger, Democratic Party machine Congressperson Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco, as she receives a "peace" award on April 12, 2003 at 5 p.m. at the Fairmont Hotel, Nob Hill, California and Mason.

The full calendar listing is at:

Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic Party machine's favorite fundraiser and Congressional representative of most of San Francisco since 1987, deserves only one thing: Immediate defeat by a peace candidate who is not a Democrat or Republican in the 2004 election. She has voted for everything Bush has asked for including, most recently as last week, $80 billion for war and fascism.

After the peace rally in Dolores Park, in the spirit of "All Politics are Local," picket Pelosi and then let's all find peace candidates to run for office. We need to replace Pelosi, Lantos, Feinstein, Boxer and all the rest of them. Every single one of them, including Barbara Lee and Nancy Pelosi, voted to praise the butcher of Palestine in 2002, Ariel Sharon, and always vote for money for Israel, the US puppet protecting US oil profits in the Middle East. They all, including Barbara Lee and Nancy Pelosi support capitalism, and therefore by definition, are anti-workingclass. Practically all, including, including Nancy Pelosi and Barbara Lee, supported the resolution against the excellent 9th Circuit decision tossing the illegal pledge of allegiance which violated the Constitutionally-mandated separation of Church and State, thus violating their own oath of office. We do not need any theocracy, whether it be in the US, Israel, Saudi Arabia, or anywhere else. We must have a secular government as only a secular government can be a democracy.

Picket Pelosi on April 12, 2003 at 5 p.m., Fairmont Hotel, Nob Hill, Mason & California San Francisco. This is 1 block from the Powell Street cable car line running from the Powell St Station on Market and on the California Street cable car line running from the Embarcadero Station on Market to Van Ness and California. It is also on the #1 California Street bus line running on Sacramento Street from Market at the Embarcadero Station and running on Clay Street in the opposite direction (as each is a one-way street in this section).

Promote Peace Candidates in 2004! A declining economy is always good for getting rid of incumbents, and it is long overdue that we retire Nancy Pelosi and both the Democrat-Republican warmongering parties with a peace candidate.

Pelosi Statement at Congressional Rally for the Troops

April 10, 2003

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Washington, D.C. -- Members of Congress held a rally this afternoon to support our men and women in uniform serving in Iraq. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi gave the following remarks:

"Members of the diplomatic corps, Members of the Armed Services, I'm pleased to join our distinguished Speaker and all of our colleagues in welcoming you to this wonderful ceremony in this magnificent Capitol.

"During World War II, legendary correspondent Ernie Pyle chronicled the story of the average American soldier. And he wrote, “In the end, they are the ones that wars can't be won without.” It was true then, and it is true today. For despite all the advances of science and technology, it still comes down to the personal commitment of our men and women in uniform.

"We are gathered in this august hall to pay tribute to our servicemen and women and their families - Americans from all walks of life serving their country with extraordinary bravery and valor.

"It is with the deepest gratitude and respect that we honor their courage, their patriotism, and their willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice. Today, as always, they are the ones that wars - and peace - can’t be won without.

"For the past three weeks, the American people have been gripped by unprecedented broadcasts from the frontlines. We have watched in real time as our forces in Iraq have confronted the hardships, horrors and uncertainty of war.

"We have been inspired by their courage under fire, their heroic acts, including the sensational rescue of Private First Class Jessica Lynch, and their compassion toward their wounded comrades. And over the past 24 hours, we have watched as the Iraqi people, who have suffered so much for so long, take their first breaths of freedom.

"Before the war began, many of us met our courageous men and women in uniform, both here in the United States and in the Persian Gulf. And since the war, many of us have visited them at Bethesda Naval Hospital and Walter Reed Hospital. Anyone who meets with them is completely inspired, and it makes anything that we do or say for freedom seem so small compared to their willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice.

"Today, our thoughts and prayers, as they have been since the day the conflict began, are with these brave servicemen and women and their families, as well as with those who are still in harm’s way. We pray for the wounded and the families who have lost a loved one.

"We pray for the safe return of the missing, our prisoners of war, and all of our forces into the loving arms of their families.

"And we in Congress, indeed all Americans, resolve to let their service renew our mission - to build a future worthy of their sacrifice.

"On behalf of a grateful nation, we say to these American patriots - thank you. Thank you for who you are - your character and your courage. Thank you for what you have done - your service and your sacrifice.

"God bless our courageous men and women in uniform. God bless their brave families back home. And God bless the United States of America."

Pelosi Statement on President Bush's Address on Iraq

March 17, 2003

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Washington, D.C. -- House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after President Bush's address to the nation tonight on Iraq:

“The President's address to the nation tonight was a somber statement on the most solemn decision facing our nation -- whether to send our military men and women into harm's way. Like many Americans, I have raised questions about whether military action at this time is the best way to disarm Saddam Hussein and whether we have exhausted every other alternative.

“Sadly, we stand on the brink of war. If our troops are ordered into action, Americans will support and stand united behind our courageous men and women in uniform who will bear the burden of that action.”

Nancy Pelosi is best known as Little Ms. NAFTA, for her support of the anti-labor trade agreement, NAFTA. She opposes public power and supports PG&E and is best known as Ms. Standard Oil, or today, Ms. ChevronTexaco. She is also a proud privatizer of the Presidio of San Francisco, the former military base that is now part of the national park system.

The little game Pelosi, et al play is they claim to be "pro-choice" instead of pro-abortion, give lip service to gay rights and they register Democrat, and that is sufficient for the loyal Democrats to elect Pelosi.

The Democrat-Republicans can continue to vote for Little Ms. NAFTA Pelosi, and the rest of us, who are the majority by definition, will be glad to vote for a candidate who is pro-abortion, for gay rights including gay marriage for those who want marriage, pro-public power, anti-NAFTA and pro-labor, against all blood for oil wars, against all fascist laws like the fascist "PATRIOT" Act and the Homeland Gestapo Act, against the Zionist State of Israel and for a socialist secular state of Palestine, for eliminating all pledges of allegiance, which children should never be asked to make, not a Democrat-Republican, and as far as I am concerned, the candidate must be a socialist.

All politics are local. When people get done with the marching, it is time to prepare for precinct-walking and phone-banking in every congressional district, every school board district, every city council and Board of Supervisors district and the like. That is how we will elect serious peace, labor , gay rights, environmental, public power and pro-abortion candidates who are not Democrat-Republicans. Our work must be done at the precinct level, with massive voter registration of the workingclass.
