According to the article, hundreds of people attended the city council meeting and 25 spoke against this Gestapo Act, promoted by Bush and approved by the overwhelming majority of the Congress and Senate, both Democrat and Republican, without even bothering to read it. Some claimed it was too long to read, which if true, is good reason to vote No as they have no business voting on something so serious without even reading the text.
The residents of Mill Valley also have constant peace vigils and have a long tradition of suppoting the peace movement during the Vietnam war and opposing the bookburners of the fascist era of the 1950s.
Congratulations to Mill Valley in opposing fascism, once again!
