It's still pretty restrained here today - the euphoria of yesterday hasn't been repeated yet. I drove round the city centre as the statue was being toppled yesterday, and mostly people are reserving judgement, it's mostly the Shia areas that are celebrating. But there's no question people are glad to see the end of the regime. One of my close Iraqi friends went up to an American marine and said to him: "I'm going to exercise my right of free speech for the first time in my life - we want you out of here as soon as possible."

If you are going to tell lies in a headline, you should learn to not post the actual quote.

"we want you out of here as soon as possible"

is not the same as

"get out!!"

The US agrees with the fellow. We want out as soon as possible as well. Everybody knows that it will take a few years before the US and the international community can depart. Nationbuilding is still an activity in its infancy.

You missed the most critical part of the quote, "I'm going to exercise my right of free speech for the first time in my life..."

What kind of spin are you putting on that to make it seem like a bad thing?
