The Demonization of Syria has begun. According to Israel's script, Syria is next

by Reuters
In the below Reuters article, Rumsfeld starts the demonization process against Syria which when repeated ad infinitum, will eventually convince people that we have no choice but to invade them as well.
WASHINGTON (AFP) - Senior Iraqi leaders are fleeing to Syria, which is continuing to send military assistance into Iraq (news - web sites), US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld charged as another senior US official warned Damascus to take a lesson from what was happening in Baghdad.

"I have accurately advised that they not provide military assistance to Iraq," said Rumsfeld. "They seem to have made a conscious decision to ignore that.

"Senior regime people are moving out of Iraq into Syria and Syria is continuing to send things into Iraq. We find it notably unhelpful," he said, noting that Syria had been providing Iraq forces with equipment including night vision goggles.

Rumsfeld said intelligence pointed to Syria having been "cooperative in facilitating the movement of people out of Iraq into Syria."

"In some cases, they stay there, finding safe keeping there. In other cases, they're moving from Syria to still other places. We've also seen people from Syria moving into Iraq, unhelpfully," he added.

Meanwhile, in Rome, US Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security John Bolton said Syria should heed the lesson of the US-led conflict in Iraq.

"We are hopeful that a number of regimes will draw the appropriate lesson from Iraq. That the pursuit of weapons of mass destruction is not in their interest," he said.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for Syria to forswear the pursuit of weapons of mass destruction and as with other governments of the region see if there are not new possibilities in the Middle East peace process."

He uses the word because .. They have called syria... "notably unhelpful" and suggested syria has an "opportunity" not really anything that "demonizing"

most governments faced with a small country supporting a country that they are at war with would have said somthing more like.
"they are Evil!" and said "We will smite them!"

Israel is urging the Bush administration to target Hezbollah following the war in Iraq, arguing that the militant Shiite organization threatens the stability of the Middle East and the security of the United States worldwide.
Based in southern Lebanon, Hezbollah has stepped up its anti-American rhetoric since the start of the war in Iraq three weeks ago. Israeli intelligence sources warn that Hezbollah may be involved in recruiting volunteers to fight allied forces in Iraq, although the group has not directly targeted Israel or the United States since hostilities began.

According to Israeli government sources in Washington, such warnings have been conveyed to American officials during "working level" talks between the two countries on postwar priorities.

Critics of Hezbollah argue that the group's global network of sleeper cells and its ability to destabilize the region with missile attacks against Israel make it impossible for the Bush administration to ignore. Israeli sources said that one plausible scenario would be an American green light for Israeli strikes against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, following American diplomatic measures to ensure that such Israeli actions would not spark a Syrian reaction.

"Clearly, we would have to work together closely on this one," said an Israeli diplomat in Washington...

have you noticed how we are getting more respect from Nth Korea now? Its because we attacked Iraq and beat them in 3 weeks.

Also we DIDN'T find any WMD's and we DON'T care..
(not that we wont find them eventually)

Now that attitude gets some respect from tinpot dictators.

So to all the other tin pot anti american human rights abusing terrorist supporting dictators out there in syria or somwhere else "sit.. roll over.. beg.. bend over".

Yeah, right. We've stopped producing nuclear weapons because your shitty little military was able to slaughter a defenseless country in three weeks. Get a clue, Sherlock. Bush wouldn't dare try to invade us.

Syria is a disgusting country with a corrupt government, wacko religious extremists and hoards of terrorist organizations. Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded, ignorant or a nutcase.
