To Jerry Brown

by Matthew Willis from Uhuru (reparations_sfbay [at] yahoo.com)
An Open Letter to Jerry Brown
iraqi_boy.jpg
Jerry Brown,

I want you to take a good look at the attached photo. I want you to know that you helped to mutilate that boy in your role as a Oakland's mayor.

In 2000, you opened up the city of Oakland to the marines to practice "urban warfare," helping them to hone the skills they would need to conduct successful massacres such as they are now doing in Iraq, which led to the loss of that child's arms. Back here in Oakland, your primary political campaign as Oakland's
mayor has been to wage war on the African community in Oakland through your police containment policies. You have seen your job as Oakland's leader to provide political cover the OPD needs, as they terrorize, murder and capture Africans, to pave the way towards Oakland becoming the white "ecopolis" of your dreams.

This morning I listened in disgust to your interview on KCBS radio, as you continued your political role in securing the U.S. military's genocidal adventures which lead to thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions of similar situations as seen in the attached image. You are again providing political cover for the Oakland police, who yesterday shot and threw grenades at brave women and men who had the courage and integrity to take a peaceful, moral, civilly
disobedient stand against this war.

The Port of Oakland has always had a principle role in
U.S. wars. Not only does it currently provide a base
to ship out military supplies to Iraq to help blow Iraqi children's arms off their bodies. For decades, it has been used to bring in mountains of heroin and cocaine to be used as chemical warfare against the
African communities throughout the U.S. and to generate hundreds of billions of dollars for the U.S. economy.

Any sensible, just, true and compassionate human being must do everything in her power to stop this once and for all. The men and women of yesterday's Oakland Port Shutdown did exactly that, to be first met with wooden bullets and grenades by the police and then slander, and other political support for the police attack by Oakland's mayor.

The goal of a brutal, violent attack on a peaceful and just protest can only be to terrorize others who might be inspired to join in courageous acts to stop the war that created the scene like that depicted in the photo. That way, slaughtering Iraq people to protect U.S. global, military, economic and political hegemony can continue unchallenged in any significant way by an intimidated U.S. population.

You should be ashamed of yourself for your role in this form of terrorism. The mutilation of the child in that photo is on your hands. Unfortunately, it seems your inability to conjure the natural human emotion of guilt after committing wrong doings, seems to be an important component to your success as a U.S. politician over the years.

In the Uhuru Movement, we have always seen through
your "progressive" charade. We knew who you were, even when you were a radical talk show host on KPFA. We stood true to our mission to expose you, even when it was unpopular to do. Once, the Uhuru Movement was criticized by others for being "divisive" for not getting on the Jerry Brown band-wagon. Now, we are excited that ALL people can see who Jerry Brown is, and the terrible role that he plays. This will mean the days of your career as a politician are assuredly numbered.

And this will lead to a stronger possibility of peace for the people of Iraq, the African community of Oakland and all the world's Peoples.

In deepest sincerity,
Matthew Willis
