RACHEL CORRIE CONTIGENT UPDATE
We will gather at noon in front of the San Francisco Library on the corner of Larkin and Grove Streets in the Civic Center.
We believe in the one-state solution of Palestine-Israel or Israel-Palestine, with a flag that represents all the people of the land not just Jewish people. We believe in equal rights for all regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or sex in Israel-Palestine and that includes for all the Palestinian refugees who must be allowed their right to return to their ancestral homeland of Palestine-Israel, which is their right according to UN Resolutions, International Law and world opinion.
We believe that the US must not send any more aid to Israel until Israel is transformed into a true democracy with equal rights for all regardless of religion, ethnicity, race or sex, including for all the Palestinian refugees as per above statement.
We believe that Israel is a racist, anti-democratic, apartheid regime and as such must be boycotted as was apartheid South Africa, until Israel becomes a true democracy.
We believe that the two-state solution is unjust and racist and a continuation / formalization of apartheid, and therefore unacceptable. When South Africa was transformed into a democracy, it did not break up into two countries: one for whites and one one for blacks! That is racist and regressive! Even here in the US, since the Civil Rights Movement, we have banned racial discrimination and ended segregation and remained one country under God.
We believe that Zionism is a blatantly racist, ethno-centric supremacist ideology, and as such has no place in US policies, either domestic or foreign.
We believe in equal rights, freedom and justice for ALL here and in countries that our tax dollars go to, such as Israel, the #1 recipient by far (over 40% of our foreign aid).

Of course, when you're there, be sure to ask her what she meant when she posted here about how bad Zionist Jews have been "since Biblical times," and what that does to her fig leaf excuse about "I'm not anti-Jewish, only anti-Zionist."

I believe that her message involved supporting human rights, and the respectful and dignified treatment of all people. While Israel as a government may have a history of human rights abuses that are illustrated by her untimely death, it does not make sense to blame zionism and declare the need for a single, unified country for the Palestinians and Israeli's as a just penalty for her death. The responsible parties need to be identified, charged and prosecuted. We need to send this message to our federal representatives, because the Israeli representatives likely will not prosecute.
