LAND OF PLENTY
This is one of a series of collage images recently shown in New Haven, CT and carried through the streets of Washington. The strongest influence to these works are the unnamed thousands who have expressed political opinion through the rapid form of free speech that is collage. Please feel free to copy and distribute.
LAND OF PLENTY Pictured at top is a plowed agricultural field.
Pictured at center is a combat aircraft and prodigious armaments.
Pictured at bottom is Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia where 260,000 individuals are buried, including military personnel, public officials, and other exceptional individuals.
Through apposition of these images which are so visually similar but contextually dissimilar, I hope to compare the notions of hope, dreams and cycles of growth with those of might, death, and the engines of conquest.
