Part 2. Fight the War at Home! Oakland!
On Saturday April 5th, 2003 the Bay Area anti-war movement hit the streets of Oakland to fight against the U.S. government's war at home and abroad.
On Saturday April 5th, 2003 the Bay Area anti-war movement hit the streets of Oakland to fight against the U.S. government's war at home and abroad. Thousands of people from various Bay Area communities participated in the march from Mosswood Park in North Oakland into downtown Oakland.

The pictures are great! This march was soo different from the SF ones. The Philipino Coalition for Global Justice Not War had the bomb-ass chants! Movement Rising and Schools Not Jails Contingents had the tight banners! The Korean drummers kept it live. Visual Element had the graffitti artists and the POWER Movement brought the guerilla theater. The program was representative of the people and the community. It was crackin!!!! :-)
I loved hearin 50 cent's instramentals with folks chantin "El pueblo, unido, hamas sera vencido" over it.
