I thought the Oakland march and rally turned out great. But, I need to remind folks (including the author of this website who listed Iraqi casualties in the front web page) that Americans, and especially people of color and poor people, are victims too. Every dollar we spend on this war takes money out of schools, hospitals, and housing - and as someone who helped play a role in putting the demo together - this was a point this march wanted and needed to do.
This wasn't even mentioned - so please try to take out the ideological personal views and rhetoric - and keep it simple. stop the war in iraq AND stop the war on us!
thanks and peace 2 ya.

The large banner, "an injury to one..." was the banner of the ILWU. Other ILWU banners present were Locals 6, 10, and Inland Boatman's Union. There were also contingents and banners from Service Employees Int'l Union and Oakland Education Association, among others. I noticed that most of the photographs, except for this one exclude labor contingents-Ken Morgan, member, ILWU Local 6
