War on War BBQ Music Video
Neighborhood Bass Coalition organized a BBQ featuring several local artists. Here is a 1:50 piece with a toy catapult. FilthMilk is playing. The comment is MilkFilth and Magnetic Stripper.
The word is going around that SFPD is holding $10k worth of sound and bike equipment. "...until the protests are over."
Someone will do a story on this?
Here's a few line fro the NBC invite.
hello NBC friends,
Well, the war is on and so are we! Hopefully you have been standing up
for your beliefs in this time of great scrutiny.
original transmission:
-NBC declares WAR ON WAR-
A special audio-visual protest to be performed (possibly at an initially
secret location in GG Park) sometime after the imminent US attack on
Iraq.
Similar to Crying Man festival and Bizarre-B-Que in anarchist aesthetic,
I want to invite a few other experimental bands & DJs
to contribute sounds and/or visual art to the theme (and from attendees,
grub & grog to the potluck).
Sound like something in which you would like to participate and/or
contribute? Let me know!
follow up:
Thanks for all your hardy replies!
(sorry, I was out of town for the weekend and a day, so could not reply
immediately to any queries)
So, it's good to see so many interested parties from different camps-
looks very promising!
For live sonic entertainment, our friends Nick Cain as well as FilthMilk
have confirmed.
I want to get more visual stuff together to transform the location
quickly and easily- maybe something like stand-up paintings or breakdown
installations.
Hopefully some projected video, too.

Let me know when the anrchists/progressives in san francisco are ready for real action, take over the chronicle and other media outlets, bridges, etc.=========FEAR, FEAR, FEAR, NOT THE SYSTEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In response to the comment above, I would say right on- actions are sometimes necessary for change. But when you say things like 'FEAR FEAR FEAR', I have to question your reasoning. Fear is another form of misunderstanding and the root of hatred, and hatred is what brings us so much trouble. Some folks think anarchy is all about bringing down 'the system'. The problem is that 'the system' is much more complex and integrated than anyone could ever realize. Without 'the system', he or she would not be able to post or read about such revolutionary concepts, much less do anything (like eat) without living on a desert island. I imagine even that scenario could not escape having a Club Med or Hilton Resort plop down at some point!
Anyhow the point is that I believe society can be affected into action (or sometimes more importantly, inaction) by changing the way people think about each other- for me anarchy is the belief that human nature can be intrinsically good and that yes, we can govern ourselves. Give someone some real responsibility before it's too late and they will do good things.
In my mind, this event was a perfect example of everyone putting a little something into having a fun time on a glorious day!
Don't get the wrong idea- we believe in resistance in every way possible and are often avoided by those that consider themselves 'apolitical' (is that possible in a consumer society?); since the war began, many of us have been heavily involved in many protests on the streets of SF -and we have commited oh so many seditious acts, heh heh ;), so it was great to take a break from that with like minded people ready to have fun; to declare WAR ON WAR is to assault the concept in our own minds first! So please come to our next event or invite us to yours, we will play our electric violins as the United States of Rome burns once again...
To all who participated and attended our event-
THANK YOU!!! Perfect weather, amazing food, diverse sounds, and GREAT PEOPLE!
We are considering another event at this location, so stay tuned (write an e-mail to noisecd [at] yahoo.com to be added to our list).
Here is the initial announcement that was released to the public:
In the free renegade spirit of Crying Man and Bizarre-B-Que,
NBC and friends will present yet another outdoor potluck BBQ experience
with live music, noise, and twisted DJs!
Where: Golden Gate Park, San Francisco
When: 12PM - 5PM
What to bring: FOOD: grillables!; fresh foods (not processed);
beer/drinks/chips/salsa (buy local/regional brands) ; GEAR:
bicycles/stunt gear; camera; art and peaceful sentiment.
There is a large & level concrete slab, perfect for physical antics with
long fences for visual art display (bring it!).
WHO: There will be live sets by FiLTHMiLK, Magnetic Stripper, Nick
Cain (Bioflava), and Harry (of Tarantism), as well as live PA improvisations and pan-genre discjockeyisms from the NBC crew.
We will be running our (recently upgraded) clean and quiet 12 volt
soundsystem-no gasoline generators!
BTW
this is going to be a party, not a protest- though it's easy to preach to
the converted and flog a dead horse, I believe it's very important to
continue standing up for a peaceful future. True freedom is not bought
with blood- it is created and shared by those who believe in peace!
