SHOCK, AWE AND WAR GORE DELIVERED TO SAN FRANCISCO BUSINESSES
The bloodied bodies of massacred Iraqi women and children were delivered today to two notable San Francisco businesses complicit in their murder.
The San Francisco Chronicle and the Carlyle group were simultaneously targeted by protestors who dumped corpses and spilled blood effectively obstructing entrances at each location. Leaflets explaining the protest’s symbolism were dropped from the roofs of nearby buildings. The action is the first in a series of demonstrations intended to bring the gory reality of war home to those who perpetuate and profit from armed conflict.
Since the inception of the war, the San Francisco Chronicle has been complicit in the war effort. Coverage of the Shock and Awe assaults and the consequent destruction of Iraqi homes and businesses have been consistently refined to the paper’s back pages. To date, no photograph of any civilian casualties has been published. By portraying the war as a game, the Chronicle has ignored the ugly reality that war means the murder of the innocent.
The Carlyle Group, with offices in the Trans America Building, is a secretive investment firm managing some $14 billion in assets, including stakes in a number of defense- related companies. They are a chief contractor to the pentagon, and have invested in United Defense Industries, a maker of armed vehicles and weapons.
Protestors have vowed to continue their targeting of corporations complicit in the killing of the innocent. War profiteers beware: you are no longer safe from the shock and awe of war. Protestors will continue to bring the gore home until the war ends.

Wow..
And for the people who think gore "injures our image in the public eye": you are no better than the media decievers.
If the government is slaughtering people we've got to be honest about it.
Thanks, harbingers of the icky truth.

Fine -- the Chron isn't always accurate, and much of it repeats govt/corp. propaganda -- *still*, as with all print media, you can find accurate info if you dig around in it.
Try that with corp. TV -- you will be very hard-pressed to do so. And TV, my friends, is what influences the American public THE VERY MOST, viscerally, and propaganda-wise.
We would do much better targetting all our energy towards CNN and local TV outlets, as some of have been doing. To target the Chron is simply diverting energy that would be much better focussed elsewhere, i strongly feel.
(but all the corp. war profiteering targets are excellent places to direct energy).

One thing people should consider is that in the last few wars civilians by a long shot were the vast majority of victims, especially in Iraq war I and in Kosovo.
I believe there is something else going on here that is escaping the average Joe. By targeting civilians this criminal cabal (the Bush people) are incurring world emnity on purpose. It will suit their plans for world domination by creating enemies everywhere, Americans will be targets not only abroad but at home.
With each new terrorist attack on an American this will be used as an excuse to counter with a similar attack in kind or completely out of proportion, similar to what Israel is doing with the Palestinians. It will be a never ending cycle of violence begetting violence all suiting their needs for global expansion, a.k.a the New World Order.
Now, another theory that needs exploring is that this administration is being orchastrated to be the bully, yet knowing patsy for the international bankers, globalist who are behind every war. By incurring the wrath of the world this administration will be creating not only outside dissent but also internal dissent. A counter coup can be plotted to take out this administration with the coup leaders calling for the UN for help stop this rogue nation.
Hence, the militia men up in the mountains of Montana might have a point -- the UN could be the New World Order invasion force but because of the fear and hatred of the Bush people (who are in on the Machiavellian scheme) most people would consider their troops as true "liberators," unlike the poor smucks being herded into Iraq right now.

The destruction we witnessed in New York gave us Americans the chance to know, really for the first time, what a bombed city feels like. That our reaction to this painful opportunity was to continue bombing other cities was so unconscienable as to be criminal.
If you are able to remind people of this gruesome reality, you are to be commended. Sadly, this stage blood is all too real in Iraq.

I doubt peoplein other cities "felt what it was like" to be in a bombed city on Sept. 11. As A new Yorker I have skepticism for anyone who was not in this city at that time who say that they inow what it was like. It was sad, and scary, and it smelled bad.
I have been checking he SF Chronicle from NYC for their stories and have found their coverage of the protests there helpful.
I think CNN is a better target because it is a national news media that many people watch around the nation and world. And their coverage has been much much worse than the SF Chronicle.

Excellent creative protest.
Thingswill gomuch better if the baiting and agitation of the cops (who in SF do seem quite pre-agitated) ceases and more coordinated, appropriate actions like this are taken.
The people who work at Carlyle most likely don't give a shit about the death of poor non-whites. Their whole existence is death and destruction paraded as "defense".
More and more the warmongering ideology reminds me suspiciously of crackhead thinking.

Los Angeles LOOOOOOOOOOOVES you, San Francisco! Your protests are the role model for the world! Keep it up please!!!!!
Tonight, I will be joining my Neighbors For Peace & Justice in their Studio City anti war rally! Honk for peace!

All it takes is one American to inspire another. Your efforts have been broadcast widely on the web and reached my living room in NY. The vomitous duplicity of corporate media will not be forgotten or forgiven.
The day has now arrived when millions will not bother to read one word of mainstream propaganda or turn on their TVs as a source of legitimate news. We are learning rapidly to seek out independent sources on the internet.
In addition to the Carlye Group, please research the corruption and war profiteering of the Trireme venture capitalists set up by Kissinger and Perle.
In solidarity, Pam Martens

First off, congratulations on your recent actions. The corpses were brilliant. We had a similar idea, but yours was executed better than I envisioned.
Often targeting companies that are directly involved in the war effort is ineffective as they just bring their heads a little tighter into their shells. They have the deep pockets capable of sustaining long sieges by protesters, boycotts, etc.
However, if one targets the companies that do business with war profiteering companies, these targeted companies will often put pressure on the profiteers. Particularly, since they feel they are being unjustly targeted.
This was the method used to combat apartheid. Students picketed their own campuses who were only indirectly invested in S. Africa. These campus put pressure on companies doing business in South Africa. And these companies in turn were forced to divest which ultimately pressured the S. African government and international bodies.
This is also a method used effectively during the civil rights era.
Just a thought to consider. So the question should be, what SF companies do business with Halliburton, Bechtel, Kellogg Brown & Root, Fluor, and Washington Group International all players and likely to profit directly from the war in Iraq.
Many of these once-removed companies can be discovered by looking in the offending company's Annual Reports or SEC reports where they list their major customers for the benefit of investors. Virtually all of the annual reports for Halliburton, Bechtel, et al are on-line.

Most of the Iraqi citizens that are dying are being killed by their own government. Sure some of the people who are dying are in areas that US is bombing, but Saddam's thugs are putting civilians in and around Iraqi military buildings. So in my opinion Saddam is responsible for every single death of Iraqi's citizens. And another thing Saddam has killed hundreds of thousands of his own people because they don't agree with his ways. Iraq will be a better place to live once Suddam and his thugs are gone. Mark my words!!!
Back in Desert Storm in the early 90's I saw and witnessed this first hand and in person. I met so many Iraqi people who witnessed Saddam's thugs cut fingers, legs, arms, and even heads cut off of their loved ones for not obeying the stupid ways of Saddam. In an Iraqi military bunker a fellow soldier of mine found a photo album of civilians they killed. There were people with crushed heads, no heads... ect. and Iraqi soldiers were posing with them with smiles on their faces. Every Iraqi person I met, met me and my fellow soldiers with open arms. Many of them knew English enough to say "Thank you and god bless!!!" and many chanted "USA USA USA...." "Thank you for the food and water" "BOOO Suddam!!!" "Down with Saddam" These poor Iraqi people usually have to beg, borrow or steal to make it day to day.
I think what USA and other countries are trying to do what's best for Iraq. With power comes responsibility and that's why our troops are willing to go to Iraq. To sit back and let countries like Iraq get more powerful is just down right irresponsible. Look what happened 9-11-01. The world let terrorist get too powerful and this is what happens when irresponsible people get too powerful.
I hate war too, by god I witnessed it first hand. It's ugly, but sometimes necessary. I was in the US Army in the Infantry, so I think I'm very qualified to state my opinion. What I witnessed over there will be with me for ever. I wish the world was a peaceful place. I wish I didn't have to experience what I did, but I'm glad I did because I learned a lot about the world.
I just have one last thing to say.
"Support our Troops!!!"

I am shocked at the lack of media coverage on the anti-war movement; I did not even know about San Francisco's rally, arrests, etc. -- and I am in Tucson, AZ
-- not really far away. Even NPR radio is not covering much, outside of interviews with soldiers.
I want to know what is going on, and even more, I want other people to know they are not alone, that people from all walks of life are dissenting to this.
What is happening?

Shut the FUCK UP. we are tired of hearing this crap. You are spouting our goverments propaganda. Learn to think for yourself.
Kristina?
I wish you had enough courage in our country and its people
to allow multiple views.
I suspect that it is more important that your view is expressed and not
someone elses.
Ordering someone to "shut the fuck up" is a vile threat, did you know that?
So much anger from the right-wingers these days.
too sad....

Hey there abc..
I am a Gulf War I veteran.. once part of the 1st MEF out of 29 Palms, California. If you were there in '91 and saw what I did you would not be swayed by the current propaganda, "Iraq is killing their own people... not us bombing.".. Please, don't try and speak for all of us, just for yourself. Read, don't just watch T.V...

I can’t get no real news!!! I'm sick of the mind numbing pro-war commercials masquerading as news. My MSN web browser won't access Al-Jazeera. (I keep getting pop up ads that won't close). This is the first decent message board I've found. Does anyone know where to get regular real and objective news updates?
Throughout history, we the people have tried to believe the best about our leaders, until evidence of planned corruption is made public and the wrong is made right! Who can make public the OWNERS OF THE PUT OPTIONS JUST DAYS BEFORE 911 THAT WAS 6 TIMES HIGHER THAN ANY OTHER TIME IN HISTORY ON AMERICAN AND UNITED AIRLINES! THOSE PEOPLE ARE THE ONES WHO PLANNED THE ATTACKS! AND WHY, WHEN SOME FBI AGENTS DISCOVERED SAUDI'S IN AMERICAN FLIGHT SCHOOLS WERE TOLD TO LET THEM CONTINUE AND THREATENED IF THEY DIDN'T. AND CAN YOU SAY CARLYLE GROUP!
I think this kind of action should be taken up over here in the UK.
Tony Blair is now liable for war crimes against humanity as this war on Iraq is illegal in the eyes of international Law.
Bush et Co have nicely not signed up to the international courts & are banning international agencies from inspecting the US stock pile of weapons of mass distruction.

Nice touch... being sarcastic to show the hypocrisy of both conservatives and liberals. Although you were directing your comments at Kristina, it was Kristina, a left-winger showing anger towards a previous poster that wrote "support our troops." Until both conservatives and liberals admit they act the same, real progress can never be made.

Excellent work with the "shock and awe". I'm wondering how I can get more involved with the "street theatre" tactics. This is by far the most powerful strategy . I really appreciate this alternative to the corporate controlled media -- the account of the young nineteen year old who "couldn't wait " to get to do battle. These boys are seduced to the killing fields. Sadly, they will learn their lesson the painfully traumatic way: that the USA is progressively sinking into a guerilla war that will make Vietnam look like a disney movie. The tragedy is that Bush/cheney should be on the front lines getting their thrills.

Way to go, Joe citizen. Whenever we conservatives have nothing intelligent to say, we can always resort to juvenile name-calling. Good job!
So, what about the "needless civilian murder" of American citizens around the world caused by Muslim terrorists?
Does anybody out there on the safe West Coast remember September 11? I'll bet you had a great protest planned after that, huh?

Way to go. Whenever we conservative trolls don't have an argument, we can always resort to bringing up 9/11. Great job! BTW, are you going to enlist in the Zionist army?
I am perplexed by your constant usage of "we conservatives" in nearly every comment you make, as you seem more interested in deriding conservatives rather than espouse their intellectual position.
And for those of you who were not in NY on 9/11 (which I suspect 99% of these posters were not), the horror of seeing mothers and fathers jump to their deaths is something that has forever changed our foreign policy. That is the true link to 9/11, that our govt. cannot let that happen again, ever.
I support this war, but I would give anything to go back to the 90's and live in a lolly pop world and Bill Clinton dreams. But I can't and we need to realize that people hate us for being simply us. People can protest all they want, and believe that Saddam would NEVER do anything to hurt/support those who want to kill us. If you want to make that bet fine, but we can no longer sit back and hope for the best. For one day, terror will strike your door too, and at that point I would be sadly interested to see if you would change your mind too.

Not a single Iraqi was involved with 9/11. They were Saudis and Egyptians. Why is Bush attacking Iraq and not the Saudis and Egyptians?
They were al-Queda members mainly from Saudi Arabia.
An al-Queda training camp in Northern Iraq was destroyed just recently. Don't believe it, do you? If it's information that goes against your preconceived notions you automatically dismiss it, but if it's something that supports your preconceived beliefs, you readily grasp it. That you have proven.
So never mind, we're moving forward regardless of what you believe we should do because listening to you and yours just isn't worth anything.

They were supported neither by the Iraqi government, nor by the Iraqi citizens living in the area, both of whom had mounted military operations against them. They have since fled back into Iran, where they are not welcome either.
Blaming Saddam for their depredations is like blaming J. Edgar Hoover for Dillinger's bank robberies.

The facts are the facts. Your facts are not facts at all. You can post them here at SF-IMC, but beyond here, and even here for that matter, they mean nothing.
I perfer you believe what you wish. Makes it easier to focus the site.

What more can you say? Never has such a huge collection of incongruity been found in one place. Enjoy your naivete while you can, because one day you'll realize exactly 'why' you can.
"Not a single Iraqi was involved with 9/11. They were Saudis and Egyptians. Why is Bush attacking Iraq and not the Saudis and Egyptians?"
What makes you think this is 'only' about terrorism and 9/11? The apparent linkage is at best a 5th tier reason, not 1st as you seem to think.

How unfortunate. Such a young sounding mind being so full of hatred. Honestly, the key in the above ignorance is "Learn to think for yourself". Kristina, I whole-heartedly suggest you do the very thing you wish to demand of others.

9.11 was perpetrated with the help of the CIA, the Mossad, the Pakistani intelligence service and was a STAGED terror attack much like the burning of the Reichstag which was blamed on communists.
The Iraq war would then correspond with the "imminent threat" poland provided to Germany...and where does it lead? Peace?
I have much disgust for Pat Buchanon and David Duke, but at least they aren't totally blinded to Israeli unilateralism since its inception. By putting Likud's interests ahead of the 75% of the country that didn't vote for our "elected" leader (less than 1/2 of 1/2 the electorate voted for him, and he probably represents a lot less than that) the "team B" government advisors/executive is risking the fate of the world.

To the readership. Seems to me you Americans in SF/Bay area have it right. The "War" is definately overkill, Saddam Hussien could be dealt with in other ways. But this does not fit in with the NEW AMERICAN CENTURY scheme of things. Killing is always wrong, but in this case it's just ghastly. War is a tool of the rich, the greedy, and the POWER-HUNGRY, to the people who foster War, death and human suffering is just a bonus aspect. Keep on bringing it home to them. Pile the bodies until they can't stand to come to work. Too bad you can't emmulate the smell of burning human flesh. That would really get them.
Regardless of what the Dept. of Homeland Security, Bushie, or the NEW AMERICAN CENTURY thugs say, DISSENT is patriotic, and if it disrupts a working environment i.e.: cities, corporate zones and so on, THE MORE THE BETTER. Keep it up.
I challenge your readership to visit the NEW AMERICAN CENTURY site @ http://www.newamericancentury.org , and see what these GANGSTERS have in store for the world, the American people, and life on Earth itself.
We the People in order to reform the most perfect Union, stand against Corporate tyranny, domestic repression, and Economic terrorism.

On September 6th, 7th, and 10th of 2001, just days before the attacks on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. The worlds largest insider trading scam happened. The Chicago Board Options Exchange reported "put options" traded 6 TIMES HIGHER THAN NORMAL on American and United Airlines stock! CLEARLY... THOSE WHO initiated the sale are the persons who PLANNED the murders. The effect they wanted worked... to convince the Americans we were attacked by someother country so WE MUST COUNTER ATTACK, Everybody knows Bin Laden works for the CIA and has since the 80's war between Afgan and Soviets. Even some FBI agents in Minnesota and Arizonia and Califonia were threatened into silence by Washington when they reported that Saudi's in American Flight Schools only wanted to learn to fly...not take off or land and, how much fuel can they carry!!! And the powerful U.S. Fighter jets at Andrews Airforce Base where AIRFORCE ONE IS KEPT that just fell asleep for 45 minutes while the US was under attack with hijacked planes in the air and on the way to Washington! people are not stupid! Every air traffic contoller in the world knows that the moment "any" aircraft in US airspace that goes off course is contacted by radio to correct the heading and if radio contact does not respond...THEN AUTOMATICALLY U.S. FIGHTER JETS GO UP TO GET A VISUAL! What happened to the Andrews Airforce fighters only 10 miles from the Pentagon who just SAT THERE!!! for 45 minutes AFTER THE THEY KNEW WE WERE UNDER ATTACK AND HIJACKED PLANES WERE STILL IN THE AIR AND ON THE WAY TO WASHINGTON... Only a person in the highest position of MILITARY POWER IN WASHINGTON could have ordered those jets to STAND DOWN UNTIL AFTER ALL TARGETS WERE HIT!!! These people will go to prison!!!
Lets get the NAMES of the persons and make them PUBLIC INFORMATIO! There has to be someone out there with enough money to buy this type of infomation and then publish it so some more criminals from the White,(black) House will go to prison! Can you say Watergate or Operation Northwoods.

where was the u.s. in the late 70's and 80's when saddam was doing the same thing to the iraqi people! we supported him then. i agree that saddam is a bad guy, but we created him. where's the personal responsibility!
We were providing him with weapons and money. Didn't you know?
"Does anybody out there on the safe West Coast remember September 11? I'll bet you had a great protest planned after that, huh? "
Dear goon,
No one has yet proved what happened on 9-11.
Don't you find that odd?
We do know that 5 Mossad agents were celebrating and videotaping themselves with the burning World Trade Center in the background. They were arrested by FBI, but later released for some unknown reason. (See Five Men Arrested for Puzzling Behavior, Haaretz, September 17, 2001)
We also know that Bush tried to have Henry Kissinger as the whitewash man for the investigation. Now there's an upstanding gent who would never lie to us about anything. Two heads of 9-11 investigations have now resigned. The current investigation is being denied adequate FUNDS and access to DOCUMENTS by the Bush white house.
We also know that the alleged perpetrators of 9-11, the "19 Suicide Hijackers" has been debunked since September 2001. At least six of the alleged "suicide hijackers" are still ALIVE and well, and had at one time had their passports lifted (London Telegraph).
My family isn't in business with the bin Ladens. Is yours? We know a certain unelected president's family has longstanding ties. We also know that CIA and FBI were ORDERED NOT TO INVESTIGATE the bin Ladens as soon as Bush got into office, in January 2001. Greg Palast and BBC have exposed this story.
We know that with an hour and twenty minutes warning the United States Air Force and Air National Guard couldn't manage to get ONE FIGHTER PLANE over Washington DC to even get a look at the "Flight 77" which allegedly crashed into the Pentagon building. For an insightful read, see http://www.standown.net.
We know a whole bunch about 9-11.
What we know for sure about it is that Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with it.
And we know that George W. Bush did.

This war may be about oil, but oil may not be all of it.
Iraq has been shown to be probably the weakest country in the middle-east, due to our decimation of Saddam's army in Gulf War I, the sanctions we have imposed since and the Iraqi people's dissatisfation resulting from those sanctions, (not to mention Saddam's dictatorial cruelty).
Wouldn't Iraq make a great place from which to set up a permanent U.S. presence in the middle-east from which to 'police' the mid-east nations. Easily secured, (I mention this with sympathy for families of slain Americans and our supporters, but casualties have been within the limits of what our government probably considers 'acceptable losses'), and it is central to or adjacent to virtualy every key hot spot in the middle-ease.
Why haven't we heard even lip-service to an exit strategy? What exactly was the exit strategy for Germany and Japan? We're still a large presence in those countries, and we beat them nearly 60 years ago.....
