Just in case br is a little slow on things, no one knows if Saddam has executed people, he only interviewed POWs on tv not shoot them. Acctually read the news before you start whinning about the protestors and how they are connected to Saddam. American soldiers decieded to join the Army, it was volentary so if they die, then thats their own fault.

Speaking as someone who was arrested a couple of minutes before the guy being shown in these photos, here's the deal: He was not resisting arrest any more than I was resisting arrest. In both cases, we were not cooperating with the police, but neither were we actively trying to hinder the arrest process (That is the legal definition of resisting arrest). Doing "deadweight" is *NOT* resisting arrest, it is simple not cooperating.

Why did we pay all that good tax-money for police batons if they're not going to use them against Communist-Anarchist street scum who hate America? I want a refund.

I know of several people who were arrested on Friday although they were being peaceful and were on the SIDEWALK at the time of their arrest. These people were charged with failing to obey an officer's commands although they were not given any commands and were not actually doing anything illegal at the time. If there is a time in life to resist arrest, I'd say this is one of them. The San Francisco police department has done little to calm the streets and has done much to create a sense of tension and danger out there, mostly due to their gross over-reaction to the protests. For those of you who think that these protests should not be happening, I'd like to know what you think we SHOULD be doing in the face of this situation. No one on the streets thinks Saddam is right for the way he treats his people; they just know it isn't right for us to invade Iraq when it is legally-questionable (at best) and causing yet more anti-American sentiment in the region and around the world. It was our presence in the region during the first Gulf War that so enraged its people and spurred the attacks on America. This war will only serve to ensure further attacks, endangering the lives of Americans at home, not to mention risking the lives of servicemen and women fighting in Iraq.

Since the US is rapidly taking away our freedoms and acting like a fascist Police state and military dictatorship, should we just move or should we resist and fight this tyranny here? I don't know about the muscle headed US Marines but I'll fight for my freedoms here at home that are being taken away by the US government and thier armed thugs (the Police and Marines).

I have often considered leaving this country for a more progressive nation, unfortunately to do so would also mean leaving my trible home lands that were illegally siezed by thieves and squaters and money hungry vigilantes, oh yeah and by this imperialist nation; only one hundred and fifty years ago( I am California Indian and by the way 150 years does not constitute "ancient history"; and we will continue to complain untill there is a satisfactory legal outcome to this situation, and not just the "might makes right" solution people like you are so fond of. oh and by the way it had more to do with the uncontrolled breeding and overpopulation practiced by the european invaders than with any form of "might", that they are now in control of this country). perhaps you are the one that should be beaten for living on stolen land. Sorry to rant but people that present the love it or leave it argument just really piss me off, since they are usually the ones who would make this land a better place by leaving it for the homelands of thier own ancestors.

There was nothing racists in my comment I was simply telling the facts as they are. You obviously Know nothing about pre-invasion history in this area if you think we were nomadic tribes that lived here for a few centuries. Read some real history and educate yourself. a few things i didn't adress to the man whio said racism is alive on the left: My comments would not be classified as left wing, they would be in the catagory of Nativism. you you spend a few minutes of research on the computer you can find out what that means and add to your vocabulary, while you are doing this reasearch you can also find that the population in this country was far greater than the few thousandyou estimate. There were at least 50,000 miwoks(my tribe) and that is only one tribe among over a hundred in this state alone. New population estimates from this continent puts the people at more like 30 million, a far cry from the 1 million this government claimed for so long. At our lowest population count, around 1900 we had been reduced to around 100,000. Thats 29.9 million people and most of their children. Unfortunatly we dont have a buzz word like "holocaust" it was only ever refered to as "progress". That takes me to your comparison between my people and Israelis. This is not a good comparison for a number of reasons; here is just a few of them. The nations of the world never got together and displaced millions of todays americans in order to give us our land back, I am sure you feel very greatfull for this fact and to tell you the honest truth I doubt we would force you to move back to Europe and other countries( i tend to focus on Europe since factually it is mostly white males who hold power in this country and are my oppressors) since we let you settle here in the first place. If we were given our land back Most Native people would not choose to treat misplaced Americans the way that the Israelis treat the Palastinians. I have no hate in my heart for people of the race that has mistreated my nation, but I do recognize the current state of things for what they are. Native people in this country have adapted very well to our situation and have learned to live along side the othwer races of this country (so don't cry racism to me), the Israelis have managed to alienate much of the world through their treatment of Palastinian people and their disregard for international law. So a comparison between the Native people of Turtle Island and Israeli people is not thought through very well. Make no mistake, most of the Native people I know, who are educated on this matter, identify with the suffering of the Palastinian people.

Personally I grow weary of the ignorant rantings of the traitorous right in this country. The truth is out there, though you have to dig a little (a very little) to get it. I would rather not hear from any more folks who think that Saddam Hussein was responsible for the World Trade Center Disaster. I don''t want to hear from anymore people who have brought George Bush's line - if they can't tell the truth from what he dishes out they should perhaps keep quiet. Democracy requires an informed citizenry. If you don't fit that description then bough out an let people who do bother to keep informed do what has to be done.

Just so you know for your future arrests, "Not cooperating" is resisting. Read the section before you start acting like you know of what you speak. You are wrong. "Dead weight" is resisting, anything you do that would prolong or make the arrest more difucult than normal is "Resisting" in the eyes of the Court.
I would be happy to address any of your other misconceptions regarding law enforcement if you ask. Better to ask first that sound like most idiots posting.

Obviously by "our country" you must mean all of the people who are FOR the war, because I certainly know a lot of people living in THIS country who DON'T agree with what Bush is doing or your violent sentiments.
