These Colors Don’t Run…The World
(They May Even Ruin It)

Protest the War-In San Francisco

5:00 pm at
Powell and Market "Peace Plaza"
Every day this week and beyond
And especially Friday March 28

This Anti-War Epicenter is the place to go to gather at any time of day to meet others and act to
Oppose the war

As we keep up the pressure to end this senseless war we shouldn't forget the last business day of the week. Others will be at the monthly Critical Mass bike ride, but if you are not, come to Powell and Market for an anti-war march.

We are not an organization calling for an organized march but people who have taken part in many spontaneous marches over the last few days. So come prepared to self organize, take initiative and Take the Streets!

You have brains in your head
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
Any direction you choose
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go.

You'll look up and down streets. Look 'em over with care.
About some you will say, "I don't choose to go there."
With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet, You're too smart to go down any not-so-good street

This is a long-term war, long-term struggle, long-term plan. The smart mobs idea is the way to go. Let's keep mixing it up. Let's meet together and move out in a swarm.

It isn't fair the way they have shut down any protest in this city. This city is built on protest, everyone knows this. SFPD has declared war on protest. We have to DO IT in order to PRESERVE OUR RIGHT to do it. Nothing else matters right now to me.

One of the most beautiful moments I saw recently was at 5th and Powell on Sat night. Police in riot gear were lining the all sides of the street along intersection -- traffic was going and crosswalks were allowed -- so people began to march with the crosswalk. It was beautiful. It was spontanious. It highlighted the absurdity of it all to everyone who passed by. Hopefully the onlookers began to question
the ridiculousness of the police state tactics.

Lets keep the spectacle alive. We are begining to cause enough ruckus that the media is having to pay attention. The media only cares for ratings... spectacle causes ratings... if we are ignored we have no power.. it may be mostly bad publicity now but every now and then our message gets through... And the more we are recognized the more we become legitamized.

I'll be visiting SF later this week and I plan to spend every free moment I've got along side you guys on the street. I can tell you that from up here in Canada, you guys are a major inspiration for the peace movement worldwide. I don't know how you manage to get so organized. It's amazing.
Be sure to read some of these articles regarding the RAND Institution and the military researching our "Swarm Tactics" and "SmartMob" Tactics.

Reinsborough, the Direct Action spokesman, said members are proud that they could motivate tens of thousands of people to protest and to have "inspired people around the world."

"Our goal was never to disrupt the lives of working people. The goal was to disrupt the war, and to do that, we needed to draw attention to the outrage that Bush is taking humanity down this dark path," he said.

Michael Bernick, director of the California Employment Development Department, said Wednesday that working people and the unemployed were in fact disrupted.

"Our local EDD offices reported job seekers in tears because they could not get to interviews, working parents who were unable to get to family responsibilities, and hourly workers in stores and restaurants who were sent home because of the disruptions in the downtown area," he said.

That's also partly reflective of the desparate situation of the economy in the US, which protestors are trying to call attention to as well.

While I would make excuses I wont take full blame as well.

i went to th critical mass yesterday, and it was incredibly uplifting to see so many people there and to ride through SF with them. I have had mixed feelings about going to demos, not because I do not support them ( I do) and not because I repsect the president (I dont)--but just because I have chosen to grieve for the horrific violence happening in the world today in private and in prayer. Yesterdays Critcal Mass was an excellent way to connect with people and to experience first hand the love and desire for peace that is innately found in human beings.
