OPEN LETTER TO DAVID HARRIS, PROFESSIONAL PEACE EXPERT

Dear Mister Harris,

It was with great disgust that we saw your ugly mug on the Channel Two news the other night. The interview was typically stupid. Who knows why or how you have become an official spokesman for the new anti-war current—perhaps it’s just another example of lazy journalism, since you seem to have contributed virtually nothing since you went to prison for resisting the Vietnam-era draft. All dissidents are created equal, but some are more equal than others.

Your so-called criticisms of us and our friends are obviously based on the fact that our tactics are doing much more to bring public awareness to the brutality of the military and lack of response to polite protest from those who rule. You are annoyed that people are now talking more about anarchists than about David Harris.

By attacking us as “idiots” and calling for our friends and us to be “banned” you have shown that you are more interested in social control than in active, effective dissent. And that you are quite willing to use the police (and other institutions of oppression) to promote your own agenda (whatever that is, besides being a loudmouth). Your lack of daring objection to the prosecution of this latest American military adventure makes your loyalty to the current regime even more craven than that of the Democrats.

If this generation is lucky enough to live to see a radical transformation of American society, we and our friends will know which side of the metaphorical barricades you’ll be on. See you there, chump.
