M22 Protest, Arrests, Police Sweeps
Photos from the March 23 anti-war protest, arrests, and police sweeps in downtown San Francisco.
Although protestors marching from Civic Center onto Market Street and through downtown were entirely nonviolent, police engaged in intimidation tactics, illegal sidewalk sweeps, and illegal arrests.
When you are out and about, keep your eyes open for ranks of police coming from unexpected directions as they may close in and arrest groups of people without real notice and opportunity to disperse.

for what it's worth: one comment elsewhere said it was a rubber bullet gun. in a conversation on friday w/ one of the cops lining the streets, we pestered him till he said it wasn't chemical, but he wouldn't respond when we asked if it was some sort of bullet. other demonstrators thought it might also be plastic bullets.
Must've been their special "orange alert" guns.
