a few shots from SF on the 20th as I head out for more
oh_shit_long_day_ahead.jpg
These are just a few shots. So many great ones from all
over, these try to show things I have not seen elsewhere.

The first, a Boy in Blue looking at a very long day...
§long wait

this lockdown didn't even have a token response for something like 30 minutes, and it was only a block off Market. Additional activists were
needed just to be sure things stayed cool for
those locked in place.
§free advertising

they call it graffiti, I call it unpaid
advertising.
§liberated Market street

Huge numbers of buses held up on Market. One
thing to bear in mind: semis make great roadblocks
when you can time your positioning of them right. Let them enter the intersection, sure. :)
§ANSWER introduces us to its friends

ANSWER does permitted marches really well.
Unpermitted actions they suck at. These are the
ladies and gents and the leading end of the Market
flanking maneuver. Fortunately, the box was closed
too early and the rear line of police gave up, as
there were a lot of folks not ready to be arrested
in the box.

Nice mural at the Federal building.
§whipped tac crew

This was probably 3:00 or 3:30. At this point, they'd
essentially given up on doing anything beyond
being visible. Just down the block, a really
outstanding game of red-light, green-light
ensued between ~300 demonstrators using a xwalk
legally and some seriously out-of-shape cycle
cops who were *outraged* that their mere
appearance didn't cow everyone.

"the light is green for peace..."

I thought one of the cops was going to stroke
out in outrage over the lack of immediate
cowering.
§too bad the occupants weren't aboard

With the thinking behind their new logo. This was about 4:00 on Market, another standoff
getting set to be boxed in. No one had time to
get a less-amusing vehicle together...
