7th and Mission Brutality and arrest
People supporting Black Block tactics, as well as journalists marched down market, and then down 7th onto Mission. Where we were brutalized and arrested.
364:
374: Running back toward 7th(which was blocked anyway,no alleys to run down, we're fucked.)
375:Pigs coming down the road running.
376: This fuckin facist beat the daylights out of someone coming around a muni bus that was in the blockade. He gloats about it.
379: After the police squeezed us violently with their blockade, they began beating people, after I had raised my hands and told the man to not do it. Here I am lying on my back after he hit me, which in a few seconds 4 or 5 people fall on top of me.
383: Police beating a woman.
387: Solidarity in brutal police blockade.
395&7: The pens they put us in.

I don't want to point fingers, but will someone please speak in favor of the tall man "leading" the march in the camo face mask?
No one I talked to knew him, but he seemed to play a role in determining the direction of the march. We didn't see him get arrested either.

I think I know who you mean. The guy holding his fist up next to a banner? I've never seen him before, and he was vocal, he yelled, "up to the next block!" But after he had suggested this the Red Squad was running around the corner at us. He also had an Indymedia sticker on his backpack.
I didn't see him as part of any affinity group type thing or with any close buddies... he looked mid 20's, I'd say 6'4. If he was an infil-traitor (not saying he WAS, just IF) then the police are way ahead of us in their tactics and we are completely under their control. I think next time the flag-carriers should send a couple of scouts with FRS radios 2 blocks ahead in different directions to determine the most effective route.
To think for ourselves.
Unity is great, but following the pied piper is not.

Don't want to give too much info, but I actually ran into himtoday in my hometown and told other folks at Pier 27, who also thought this guy was undercover that he checks out. I was even in my hometown today and saw him at a local peace event at the main intersection of town. He seems like just a really cool older guy who is from a relatively close part of cali....By the way he had an amazing sound system that he brought to the rally today in my hometown and he seemed really connected with all the down church and union folk I know down there ... So I think we need to be as careful as possible about our security culture and being paranoid...
Watch Each Others Backs....Don't Be Afraid to Talk to Someone....and Keep Your Eyes Open - chuckE
ps - good looking out though cause homeboy agreed really...since he was an out of towner, had not tattoos, and was a little older... he understood why folks might flip out on him

Its interesting. This guy in the camo mask told me where he was from when I was talking to him. Can the last commenter please disclose the general location of their hometown and we can find out if our stories check out? I'll post a response when chuckE posts the general location he is from. WORD! INDYMEDIA !!
Yeah so why the fuck would I want to post info about where I am from. As someone once said...East, West, Home is Best. Figure that shit out you dumb ass.
I am usually the type to fucking think things like this about folks, and in fact almost believed folks and was a bit tired to figure it out for myself. Then when we were finally being let out, one of the folks from the bus i was on suggested pushing him forcibly out of our pig pen. I am unfortunately a bit of a pacifist still and didn't find it wise to fuck with cops like that while in custody. Usually I just try to fuck with cops minds...so if he was an undercover I wanted to question him. So I approached him honestly and told him that some folks felt suspicious about him being an undercover...He then showed me his id and said he was from ------ and understood if folks were suspicious of him...blah,blah, blah...I asked him where he lived in that town and his answer made sense based on my knowledge of my hometown. And he also knew some of the folks that I knew from the main peace group in that town...
Then on Friday I went home to get my mom to cosign so I can move into a new place up here...and when I was down there I was excited cause I finally got to go to the weekly peace vigil at the main intersection in town. It was disappointing to see so many patriots on the opposite corner, but I gave them half a peace sign and then went over to my folks and ran into this suspected undercover. The other main organizers down there knew him by name and I was admiring this really nice, loud sound system someone had setup there...And then went and talked to the guy some more cause I felt like such a dumb ass for questioning him and know seeing him the next day in my hometown...The whole experience almost made me question what I was doing, but it was just luck and kinda weird that I got to validate who this guy was and his story. I am not going any further with it. The clue is in the quote at the beginning of this post. If you can figure out the author of that quote than you know where I grew up and where the supposed undercover lives. Good luck thinker....
