Peace Activist Targeted and Charged with Felony Conspiracy

According to eye witness accounts, anti-war activist and organizer David Solnit was targeted for arrest by San Francisco police. He was on the sidewalk and was not invovled in any activities that would warrant arrest. He was simply standing on the sidewalk engaged in conversation with one other person. Location of the arrest was Market Street between First and Second streets across from Sansome in downtown San Francisco. Solnit was charged with felony conspiracy with intent to incite riot and is being held at an undisclosed location. Hundreds of anti-war activists arrested earlier in the day are practising jail solidariity for Solnit. Activists are asking for eye witneses, photographs or videos, support in the form of contacting the media, elected officials and conducting solidarity demonstrations outside of where they are being held at Pier 27 in San Francisco.
