Hit & Run

There were about 80 threats by right wingers to do that, on the free republic site. It probably isn't them, but I don't know why someone would accelerate into a group of protesters in San Francisco on this day otherwise.
Watch out tomorrow. Stay to the side of the street if there are any vehicles in the vicinity.

just call the police department or stop a cop on the streets and tell them you'd like to file a report.

An SFPD radio car got flagged down and responded to the hit and run at 10pm at Golden Gate and Turk. I have no idea if they caught the driver, or if they got a good description of the car.

People involved definately should follow up on this. It's doubtful it was a Freeper (they're all talk), but they should be made to answer for themselves.

my friend and i walked right in front of this guy's car as he pulled out of a small car lot just down from the church and where the direct action meeting was being held and i commented to my friend that he was a dick because he noticibly didn't want to stop, even though we were already halfway into the driveway and he almost bumped into us. i didn't think much of it, but right afterwards he pulled out and sped around to the far lane, i'm guessing to get around the people, but didn't bother slowing down or dodging anyone.

i don't think he had any ulterior motive, just another case of stupidity.

I saw it too, but I don't think that license plate was correct, I would have remembered if it started with my initials. We were walking peacefully back, and the streetlight was out, and we were all peacefully walking down the middle of the street in a line, in our Black Bloc clothers, and just laid down for only a moment to protest how stupid and evil everyone else is. He nudged one of my friends, then sped away in his yellow bulldozer.

Too bad. If you disrupt traffic marching in the street then that's the risk you take by getting bumped.

=v= Critical Mass has dealt with this sort of thing. You need to keep on top of it. Demand the police report, add eyewitness remarks, etc. Don't put too much info online, as a lawyer could use it against you. We haven't had much luck with the D.A. even for egregious hit-and-run vehicular assaults, but a civil case against the driver could be well worth it. (Try both in any event; it is criminal behavior and should be prosecuted as such.)

Protester Killer is a lot like the Prez.....he wants to squash all dissent.

It's ironic that this idiot uses the very thing that is driving this war...

When you protest in the streets, you expect that there may be certain consequences...criminal charges, arrest, etc but it's not fair to say that you should expect to get hit by a car.
