Actually, if someone tries to kill me, I think I do have the right to kill them.

Hamas goal is to kill Israelis. Israel's goal is to defend themselves.

by la ila illa allah
There was no Hamas presence at the house Rachel died defending. It was a physician. Killing women, children, boys, men even "discrimiatly" is not justified. This only makes HAMAS stronger, one would think the most basic intellect would realize that. Americans pay for Likud terror.

>Two wrongs do not make a right.

No, but if you find yourself in town and in the left lane needing to go to the right, you can turn left around the block and get into the correct lane. So, while "Two wrongs do not make a right", it is a fact that 3 lefts will make a right.
by End Zionism!
Yeah, we'll keep moving on this---- delegitimizing and eliminating Zionism from US policies domestic and abroad.

If Israelis don't want to have to deal with the desparate actions of suicide bombers, and Palestinian resistance fighter, and world condemnation of the racist Zionist government in Israel, then change and move on--- get over YOUR persecution complex, that you have now twisted into lies that most people can see thru, that in fact YOU ISRAELIS and ZIONISTS, YOU are the persecutors now. And you are being condemned just as the Nazis and White Supremacists were, for your immoral actions of murdering, stealing, lying, for your own SELFISH racist, ethnocentric ambitions.

We shall overcome all racism and that includes Zionism. Zionism kills.

Too Bad Rachel didnt stay in Washington State. She really wasted her life. Its a case of----one less voice crying in the wilderness. She could have acomplished so much more alive, than dead.

Rachel Corrie's murder will not be given the same level of sympathy and attention in the privately owned media ("ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN and FOX NEWS"). For example like the murder of Daniel Pearl which hit the front page of many U.S. News Papers.

Rachel Corrie was run over by an Israeli demolition Bulldozer while attempting to block it’s path from destroying Palestinian homes and drinking wells. This is a tactic that Israeli’s use to protect their soldiers who impose marshal law on Palestinian civilian refugee camps. It also is a convenient way to demolish Palestinian homes and villages so Israeli settlers can occupy it in the long run. Nothing justifies the murder of innocent people whether it is by soldiers or by suicide bombings.

Rachel Corrie courage shows us something that I think is at the heart of all our recent problems in the world. She shows us that “compassion and mercy” is not about smart bombs that carefully avoid killing civilians and kill other civilians dressed in uniforms. She shows us that listening and judging fairly and not blanketing everyone with the same hatred can lead us to a safer and better society.

We live in a time where people kill each other to propagate myths and faiths that they themselves cherish with selfish insecurity. We should not loose the war of ideology while trying exact justice with bullets. In the Middle East where few people are literate or educated, broadcasting Presidential speeches and passionate debates do very little to gain trust. But Rachel Corrie has quietly died for her beliefs; she leaves behind a legacy of action rather than cheap talk.

This is for Rachel Corrie and the thoughts that her tragedy has inspired in me.

I only hope that her family’s suffering is made bearable by pride and that her death was not in vain.
by Rachel paid the Ultimate Price
Rachel Corrie, a giant of human compassion and courage, paid the ULTIMATE price for her beliefs of equal rights for all.
DON'T EVEN THINK FOR ONE SECOND THAT HER SACRIFICE WILL GO UNNOTICED BY MILLIONS, OR BILLIONS.
Even if her story doesn't get the same coverage as egotistical, sensation/ thrill-seeking,extremely foolish, arrogant, ignorant, cutesy, yuppie Daniel Pearl's death got in the Zionist-dominated media, Rachel's story got enough to make a BIG difference. Don't worry about that.
Rachel Corrie made more difference in this world than most people can ever even imagine or hope to make.

It was heartbreaking to find out about the death of Rachel Corrie run over by an Israeli bulldozer in Gaza. What is troubling about it is that a young woman with a fiery personality would travel to a combat zone to put her and others in a very dangerous situation. What was Rachel Corrie doing in front of a bulldozer in Gaza from all places? Israel is an American ally and an American passport does insure a preferential treatment in that country. Unfortunately, when the bullets are flying it is hard to check the identity of a person. Our president, George W. Bush, has said that in a war “some unintended casualties are inevitable”.

Gaza is the hotbed for the Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, etc. terrorists, homicide bombers that perpetuate the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The demolition of houses, as unfortunate as it is, happens to be a necessary deterrent in the conflict against the terrorists. America has gone halfway across the world to fight the terrorist evil. Israel is fighting that evil right in her own backyard. It is known that Israel gives the civilians residing in the buildings an advance notice. The innocent Israeli and even some American citizens who were blown up into pieces by the homicide Palestinian Arab terrorists did not get such notices. The Palestinian Arab leadership has integrated the killings of the innocent civilians into their strategy to defeat and destroy Israel. This is a conflict that is being waged not just on the battlefield but also in the media. In fact, it is expected that Iraq will do exactly the same.

Activism is great! However, it must be combined with a good common sense of reality. Just because Israel is a democratic, open society with more reporters per square mile than any other place on this planet, there is no guarantee of safety when one departs for Gaza, the hub of the Hamas terrorists.

There are many other troubled spots in the world like Chechnya, the Indian province of Kashmir, Columbia, the Philippines, Nigeria, Somalia, etc., that require the activists’ attention. However, the networks cannot afford the liability insurance rates that are required to sent the reporters in there. Consequently, the reporting from such places is limited and does not generate the strong emotions.

The late Rachel Corrie had great and honorable intentions. Unfortunately she channeled them in the wrong direction.

by David D Darwazeh
I was deeply moved by news of Rachel's tragic loss.
I remember when I was her age and felt many of the same passions. My family is Palestinian on my father's side so I "inherited" the conflict, but I found myself going to the West Bank and Gaza, organizing rallies, writing letters, and filling myself with hope. These were the seventies.

By the time the nineties rolled around, I had lost many friends and family to death in the Middle East and here in America (perhaps the name and memory of Alex Odeh is recalled by those who read this), and so I withdrew from political activity.

Seeing Rachel, and hearing of her sacrifice, brought back everything. I will try to honor her memory by speaking out again (when I can), writing, and just remembering.

I hope a memorial to Rachel is speedily established where funds can be sent. I hope to have a photograph of her placed in my classroom.

I grieve for her parents, but no longer for Rachel, as she is in heaven.

To those others who will not give their name, but seek to denigrate Rachel's memory, I imagine them writing letters to the Jerusalem Post saying "I could almost accept Christ's sacrifice but when I saw him overturning the tables of decent businessmen he offended an important symbol of commerce that rendered his death useless."

Some people are taking time out from their day to castigate the memory of Ms. Corrie because of a photograph showing her ripping up a cartoon version of the American flag. I'm sure, had she lived, she would one day regret that photo. She can perhaps be forgiven for confusing American with Israeli policies, since most supporters of Israel do, too.

I pray Rachel's death will save lives. Americans must realize they support Israel financially and militarily, and so have a crucial say in what Israel (and Sharon) does.
The vast majority of Israelis choose to live there, choose to bring their children there, choose to put themselves in harm's way. The vast majority of Palestinians have no choice but to suffer the presence of these crazed fanatics.

Rachel keenly knew what she was leaving (and risking) to spend time over there. She is far braver than most of us.

Finally, I pray her shed blood becomes a healing salve, and not a fuel for revenge. I feel I know Rachel, and I believe she would want her memory used for peace and only for peace.

Peace be with you, and God's love, Rachel.
