so you guys can break away from a peaceful rally.... which is pretty much provoking the police ...hold signs in officers faces...and then be angry at THEM for stopping you? personally im STILL WONDERING why YOU are angry....

This was bullshit, I witnessed this first hand. This peace protestor was only crossing the street when confronted by SF finest. She was assaulted by an "officer of the law", cuffed and dragged away. She was scared and you could hear her yelling "help me, help me".

personally I'm angry that the police didn't side with us, and against the war machine. And why shouldn't they? It's them and their families who stand to suffer from the inevitable flood of terrorism that Bush's Folly will unleash.

I guess they don't have what it takes upstairs to see that far ahead.

Yeah, I am wondering too, what's wrong with your reading comprehension...

There WAS no "you guys," we weren't part of the "splinter group," we were just walking around peacefully in Uncle Sam hats and rubbernecking ...

And yeah, if silly signs that talk about Bush being an alien are "provoking the police" as you say, provoking them so much that someone should spend the afternoon in jail for JAYWALKING, then why did she only get a traffic ticket?

If this country does ever become a police state, it will be because people like YOU just shrug their shoulders when innocent citizens disappear into the back of vans for JAYWALKING!

It's great to photograph and ID the pigs too, just like they do to us and our grassroots and community leaders and organizers.

It's great to publicly ID the pigs and post their photos in indymedia. We should regularly put pictures and names of these pigs on indymedia, especially the worst abusers, and especially of plain clothes undercover cops, like one publicly pointed out by a quick, clever woman who pretended to know him so that she could hug him and confirm that he was carrying a gun in the small of his back, before publicly pointing him out. He was also apparently carrying an ankle holster under his pants cuffs.

But when war breaks out, we should realize that there aren't enough pigs in S.F. to prevent us from shutting the city down. Everyone should spontaneously and independently break into smaller groups, breakaway marches should have smaller breakaway marches and then still smaller groups and cells all over the city to shut this mutha down!! We need to spread this idea to anti-war activists in other, especially, major cities in the country. Let's make the war too expensive for the govt, big busines and chain business, and thus the stock market, at home in the belly of the imperialist beast!!

If people want to protest I have no problem. I have friends and co-worker who were activated for duty and can only hope and pray that they return safely. The Peace March began with people trying to be heard. A gathering of individuals marching for a cause. I respect that. It's the idiots that decide to ruin if for everyone else by acting like children and damaging others property and spitting or otherwise harassing a fellow human being. Are they doing it for the good of the people? We may be peace officers but we will still react as any other would. It's call human nature. Yes, we are trained to take abuse, either physical or verbal, but sometimes enough is enough. This is for the person that said they were glad a woman gave an under-cover officer a hug and then made sure that everyone around knew who he was. Did you even take into consideration that the officer's life may now be in jeopardy? I didn't think so. So you don’t want lives lost but an officer’s life is not valuable.

"Did you even take into consideration that the officer's life may now be in jeopardy? I didn't think so. So you don’t want lives lost but an officer’s life is not valuable."

Why is his life in jeopardy? Is it because he might be discovered why trying to arrest someone? If exposing undercover cops at protests can make them ineffective arresting people I'd say post their pictures on every telephone pole in town.

You expect sympathy when you arrest protesters for "illegal assembly" on a public sidewalk? You expect sympathy from protesters when the department covers up for the actions of off duty cops and tries to explain away executions of unarmed citizens (there seems to be a murder by the police once a month these days)

Police can't pretend to be neutral. The SFPD has has a political agenda. If you want to gain some sympathy from protesters maybe you can expose some internal documents on why the SFPD regularly covers up police brutality indidents in Hunters Point and why files have been created on protesters who have not yet comitted any crimes...
I saw a pic on here that said "We support our troops when they say shoot their officers."

That made me sick to my stomach. I thought the people who were against the war were supposed to be for peace. That is very hypocritical don't you think. At any rate I think it is a disgusting display of "patriotism"

It's o.k. to show your veiws but promoting violence is another. This is not aimmed at everyone just that picture and the ones who hold those peoples views.

I'm against imperialist aggression. Imperialist aggressors should die.

"I'm against imperialist aggression. Imperialist aggressors should die."

Good, we are in agreement. Saddam Hussein is a dead man. His days are numbered. We need to post his head on a stake outside of the whitehouse as a message to all 2 bit would be dictators. First marine into Baghdad gets to cut his balls off.

Go marines!

Or did you mean death to republican presidents? You hippie peaceniks are so transparent with your motives. You don't give a shit about war. If you did, where were the mass protests when we bombed Kosovo, invaded Somalia, conquered Haiti? You don't give a shit about the Iraqi people. Otherwise, where were the posters of Clinton with the hitler moustache giving up the sig heil salutes when he was enforcing sanctions and bombing Iraq.

Please note, the 'no blood for oil' think is so trite and played out already. The rallying cries of the anti-American left might make for nifty bumper stickers however, in the course of serious discourse, they leave much to be desired. It is obvious to most thinking persons that if what the US wanted was oil, we could have as much as we wanted, for whatever price we wanted if we cut a deal with Saddam to end the embargo. He would give us the stuff for free if ended sanctions. As is, after the war, you know how much US oil companies will be paying for Iraqi oil? Market price. That's right. US oil companies are still going to be buying oil on the open global market for market prices.

Thanks for supporting our slaughter of civilians. Can I count on you during the next invasion? By the way, will you be coming to the KKK rally tomorrow night?
