Myths & Facts about Human Shields & The Iraqi People: Part 1

The Truth Justice Peace Action/Human Shields
Myth: Saddam Hussein paid for the Human Shields to come to Iraq.
Fact: Everyone paid for their own way to Iraq and came of their own free will
Myth: The Iraqi government is hosting the Human Shields while they stay in Iraq.
Fact: The Iraqi Peace and Solidarity Group headed by Dr. Hashmir is hosting the Shields.
Myth: The Humans Shields are kept under guard and movements monitored
Fact: The Shields go and come freely at anytime, day or night with no guards or followers to where ever they wish.
Myth: Human Shields are pawns for the Iraqi government.
Fact: Pawns are moved and sacrificed at will and have no choice, Shields do.
Myth: The Iraqi government has placed Shields at locations that protect military installations.
Fact: Shields have chosen sites that are vital to the civilian life and have no strategic military value. Though some sites are close to military installations this is expected in a city bracing to defend it’s homeland and are a safe distance away from the sites not to pose any dangers (e.g. guard houses, bunkers, police stations etc.)
Myth: Human Shields are unwillingly going to be used by the military if war breaks out.
Fact: The military knows as anyone who has tried or researched this tactic that it has never worked and is strategically stupid and would waste a vital defense. Some Human Shields have voiced concerns about this topic. So, this contingency has been planned for.
Myth: Human Shields are extremists who are unaware and/or crazy for doing such an action.
Fact: Human Shields are educated and very sane. Some are doctors, psychologists, ex-government officials, teachers, business owners, ministers, journalists, photographers, programmers, designers, actresses, political scientists, musicians and artists etc. Some actually were for the war weeks before deciding to come see for themselves what the “Real Deal” was. Of course the sane people have learned seeing is believing. As for extremists: you decide.
Myth: Human Shields are war criminals.
Fact: There would have to be a war first, right? Besides Shields are ANTI-WAR. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure this one out.

The Iraqi People.
Myth: The Iraqi people want this war to happen.
Fact: Traveling aside an Iraqi woman who was returning home after 21 years to the day, Shields have gotten uncensored views about this subject. NO ONE here wants this war. The few who want regime change wish to do it through their own process without outside interference.
Myth: the Kurdish people welcome the war.
Fact: After talking with some of the Kurds in the north, it’s pretty apparent they want their own independent state. Although if war breaks out they will fight against the US and Turkish knowing that the Turkish troops would never allow them to be independent, as the Turks have already stated.
Myth: Iraq is against Christianity.
Fact: there are 50+ Christian churches in Iraq and thousands of Christians that I have spoken with. The In Iraq Muslims are wed to Christians and even send their children to Christian schools.
Myth: Iraqis hate Americans and their freedom.
Fact: They do and have beheaded all American Shields. I write this with no head! Actually they love Americans and were so happy that we had come to stand with them against our own regime. Namaa, an Iraq shield that has traveled with us, translated many of the same views to us from people we encountered, “God or Ala (depending on which time. It varied) has sent you angels to save us from the evils of the American government.”

This is one of two parts entitled “The Real Deal.” All of these things I have witnessed myself in an uncensored many away from any government, media or keepers. I ask you not to just take my word on these matters but to come see for yourself, as it’s the only way to know the REAL DEAL truth. Don’t base opinions on the things you hear. Ban disinformation!!!!
