M15 March Granted Permit

by Ratz
According to Matt Gonzales' office, the SFPD have granted a march permit for the March 15 peace march in SF.
A representative from the office of SF Board President Matt Gonzales told me that the SFPD has just granted a permit for demonstrators to march in SF March 15. The rally begins at the Civic Center and will march to Jefferson Square. I have no further details at this time.

P.S.: A call to the offices of the International Action Center in SF--sponsors of the demo--confirmed the news: It's a go! Peace to protestors and police alike!

Then let's kick the tires and light the fires. SF or bust!

That is to say, let's not start any REAL fires. =) Well, I mean... if you want to, go ahead. But I didn't tell you to. =)

well since its a PEACE march, lets not destruct things. the violent ones give the PEACEFUL marchers a BAD NAME... yeah its cool to be passionate about your cause- but violence isnt the answer if you want peace. anywho. laters...

This amounts to, what? A five block march from Civic Center into a park surrounded by lowrise apartments? What's the point, nobody will see us!

I can see the various breakaway marches already...
by just wondering
If each breakaway march heads in a different direction, what will the cops do?

I agree about the "fires"etc, let's not scare anyone away from showing up...a typical ploy of the pro-war crowd (well, not "crowd", just a few, actually) to sow fear and prevent people from showing up.

But one small point, and it's more than semantics:

this is not a "Peace" march
no,

it's more focused than that:

It IS an ANTI WAR march,

and specifically

NO WAR WITH IRAQ

"Peace" is, of course, the ultimate goal, but let's take one issue at a time.

NO WAR WITH IRAQ !!!!

As was probably noticable, I was just joking... hence the statement of "let's not literally start any fires". =)

Why we need a unified world philosophy based on the truth of Human Nature. What is a philosophy? A philosophy is really nothing more than a group of basic instructions that we live by. The reason we create philosophies is the same as the reason we do any other thing, to solve or enable us to solve the problems which confront us in life. Religions are nothing more than mere philosophies. For thousands of years religions provided us with a basic instruction set to live by which allowed for the further evolution of Human civilization. Today there are thousands of philosophies in use by different groups of people around the world. Even the tribal people who still exist in the jungles of some poor countries have a philosophy and a shaman who is the arbitrator of adjudication for the philosophy. Human's can not coexist in a social environment without guidelines of behavior and the base philosophy acts as the self restraining guideline of behavior by providing each member of society with an at least functional understanding of who and where he / she is to the extent that social progress is enabled and ideally enhanced.
