Despite record sales and profits, Maytag CEO Ralph Hake announced that
he will be closing the Galesburg, IL refrigeration manufacturing
facility. Machinist union members have and continue to produce a quality
American made product at the Galesburg facility. A majority of the work
will be going to a new facility that is currently being built in
Reynosa, Mexico. At other facilities in Reynosa, Maytag is paying
Mexican workers less than $5.00 per day.
Between now and April 15th, tell Ralph Hake and the Maytag Board of
Directors what you really think about them moving good paying union
manufacturing jobs to Mexico.
