A lie: Bush links Israel/Palestine to successful resolution of Iraq war

by Vince (TheConstitutionrules [at] hotmail.com)
Bush’s involvement in the Israel/Palestine conflict has been episodic and inconsistent.
“I’ll get to it, I’ll get to it” he assured us tonight, "right after the war on Iraq." Should we believe him?
Will the long and perambulating road to peace in the Middle-East also include U.S. diversionary and preemptive attacks on the other Mideast Axis of Evil states: Syria and Iran?

People lie precisely because sometimes it works. That’s why when I deposited a check last Friday, and asked the bank teller when it would clear she said, “definitely tomorrow.” Needless to say, the check didn’t clear until Tuesday. Her lie worked. She saved herself the inconvenience of having to go to a bank manager in order to enter the check in for that day. In her defense, the line behind me was growing, thus her motivation to lie.

Now a bit more costly, was the health insurance agent who assured me I did not need pre-approval to get a specific procedure done at a hospital nearby. The hospital is in your network she informed, “You’re covered”. True the hospital was in the network and the procedure was covered, but since I did not get pre-approval in writing the insurance company did not cover it. This one puzzles me. Perhaps the customer service rep was lazy, had poor training, or more nefariously part of a systemic attempt by an insurer to duck, defray (defraud?) costs. Well, the lie of omission cost me over $700 out of pocket.

As Terrorism morphs into something larger than Al Qaeda, Bush has every reason in the world to lie and link Israel/Palestine to the discharge of the war on Iraq. Bush has had over two years. The corroborating evidence of Bush’s good intentions is buried daily along with the teenage bodies of Palestinians murdered in the streets of the West Bank.

Now a bit more costly, was the health insurance agent who assured me I did not need pre-approval to get a specific procedure done at a hospital nearby. "The hospital is in your network" she informed, “the procedure is covered”. Technically she did not lie on either account. True the hospital was in the network, the procedure was covered, but in order to get the insurance company to pay, the pre-approval had to be in writing, as I learned through two subsequent appeal processes. This one puzzles me. Perhaps the customer service rep was lazy, had poor training, or more nefariously part of a systemic attempt by an insurer to duck, defray (defraud?) costs. In any case, the lie of omission cost me a little over $700 out of pocket.

P.S. If anyone has a reasoned rebuttal to this speculation, by all means post it. I so want to feel good about Bush.

I wrote this on MS word, and looks I have pasted it twice to the newswire. Sorry :-)

by No, I don't believe Bush either
No way can anyone trust Bush about his position on Palestine. NO WAY. He has not done one thing to prove that he can or will back up his "talk" of a Palestinian state. Remember way back when right after 9/11 and he said he had a "vision for a state of Palestine"? Where? In HELL? Under the ocean floor? When he was smoking some dope?
What a complete liar!
And he had the nerve to call Sharon "a man of peace" right after the massacre at Jenin! Outrageous!
He shows a complete lack of integrity with regards to the issue of Palestine and the Palestinian people and a complete cowardice about taking any real action to help their plight.
He could have done so many things! He could have sent in peace-keeping troops, as we did to Kosovo.
He could have made any aid to Israel contingent on certain conditions, like the freezing of anymore settlements on stolen Palestinian land.
He could have demanded that Israel comply with UN Resolutions (Israel has defied over 70).
He could demand that ISRAEL have a TRUE democracy with equal rights for ALL regardless of religion, race or sex, or ethnicity.
He could demand that ISRAEL have a CONSTITUTION which it does NOT have now.
He could end giving Israel any more weapons and condemn Israel's use of weapons against civilians, which IS a WAR CRIME!
And so on and so forth!
He is a complete liar and loser on the Palestine-Israel issue.
By the way, can anyone deny that the Iraq and Israel-Palestine issues are NOT entwined? Oh PULLEEEZ! Get your head out of the sand!
