SLIDE SHOW AND TALK

The forests of the Klamath-Siskiyou region in Northern California are some of the wildest intact forests in the nation. They host an abundance of roadless areas, rare species and clear rivers and creeks.

The Klamath-Siskiyou is the most diverse coniferous forest in the world and a land bridge between the Sierras, Cascades, and Coast Ranges. It is also
home to many places sacred to the Klamath Tribes, some of which are threatened by logging and energy exploitation.

The 1.7 million acre Klamath National Forest and the amazing region it is a part of are currently facing major threats from the Bush Administration, including commercial logging, road building, harmful energy projects, water diversions, sacred land threats, salvage logging, and herbicides. Come find out about the beauty of - and threats to - the forests and rivers of this unique and stunning region.
