US Blamed for Oil Well Fires

by C. Habbas (iccana [at] yahoo.com)
Gulf War veteran confesses to placing explosive on oil well
USA, Wednesday, February 19, 2003

Tonight, on Pacifica’s KPFK FM radio station, journalists aired a transcript from an interview with a Gulf War veteran, revealing US responsibility for oil well fires ignited in Kuwait during Desert Storm. A small number of veterans have surfaced to corroborate a similar story. KPFK reports that the transcript will be released to other news agencies by Thursday. The name and unit of the former soldier has not been revealed.
Other reports indicate that napalm had been dropped by US aircraft on the oil wells for the purpose of creating jutifications for US attacks against Iraq.
Since 1991, Pentagon reports have claimed that oil well fires were set by Iraqi forces under the direction of leader Saddam Hussein.
