As the guardians of the city that suffered the attack on 11 September 2001, surely you can appreciate the need to allow the voices of those who want every effort made to find a peaceful resolution, and to avoid inflicting on another civilian population an even more devastating destruction than that which New York suffered. And given our government's accusations re: Iraq's muffling of their own population, surely you understand the importance of standing up for free speech and the right to demonstrate in our own country.
