Join Out Against the War Coalition in opposing the war on Iraq on February 16th. We are a lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender alliance of community groups and individuals.

We will be forming a contingent on the northwest corner of Market Street and Drumm between 10:30 and 11 AM.

In the event the "official" war on Iraq begins, we are meeting at 5 PM at Harvey Milk Plaza at Castro and Market that day. We will rally and from there go down to 5th and Powell to meet with the larger demonstration.

If you would like more information, please email us.

what are you talking about? supporting Iraq? The issues isn't so black and white. Opposing a war led by the United States government does not imply support for the Iraqi regime. It means that you recognize that the motives behind the U.S. calls for war have absolutely nothing to do with humanitarianism. Lest we forget that the U.S. supported Hussein when it was profitable to do so. Do bad motives (economic interests, regional control), bad methods (bombing civilian infrastructure, killing civilians) and historical support on the part of the U.S. government for horribly repressive dictatorships and governments bode well for a good outcome? I think it's clear that these factors do not.

I guess we should take out Saudi Arabia, and Lebannon, and egypt, and Morrocco, and Sri Lanka, and any other country that has a majority Muslin population?
