I hope labor is at Market and Drumm in time to LEAD this peace march and STAY in the lead. On 1/18, labor started behind the lead contingent, the Native Americans, at 10:30 a.m., and fell further and further behind as too many in this contingent insisted on posing for photographs. Labor should always lead, and it is freezing cold in the Financial District. Those of us who wanted to get to the Civic Center to hear the program and did not want to freeze or pose for endless photos soon left the Labor Contingent. I enjoyed the program very much and was glad I was there in time to hear Joan Baez. Let's have labor lead al the way this time!
